Do you remember when @GaryLineker said some of the dehumanising language used by the last Tory government about migrants and asylum seekers was reminiscent of Germany in the 30s. And the right were furious. Outrageous they screeched. Well, he wasn't wrong was he.

That hotel in Rotherham is not housing illegal migrants. It is housing asylum seekers. People who have fled from danger hoping the UK would be a place of safety, and are now surrounded by murderous thugs trying to burn them alive. Get it right, journalists. Tell the truth.

@colinrtalbot @rburns Same. I couldn’t articulate how I was feeling either. It took me journaling my thoughts (for 3 hours!) this afternoon to work out that I have spent the last 8 years being angry, outraged & in despair every single day, and now it’s suddenly all over, I don’t know what to do.

Been felling slightly weird and couldn’t put my finger on it. Just realised I have the same feeling as when I handed my PhD thesis in. A huge chunk of my existence was suddenly … just gone. But that only took 3 years to happen. This has taken 13.5 years
