My view today when leaving @CERN - before I learned that Peter Higgs had died. I take it as a salute from physics to one who helped us to understand it a little better.

Biased, representative, or both. Full disclosure: ran the same, slightly rephrased task four times to get the intended pun, the other three attempts had a 3:1 ratio on the first four results.

My son is giving ‘food hugs’ after he eats to say “thank you” and I wonder why pre-pandemic this wasn’t the standard way in restaurants to add to the tip when you really enjoyed it. It is damn convincing.

Pet project: when trying to understand if the navigation of our predictor modules are finding all candidate surfaces/modules in a detector region, an adequate animation is really helpful. The human eye and brain is such a great pattern recognition engine.

When you give a lecture & guided tour to students for the Dr. HA(ns) RI(egel) [BO(nn)] foundation, there's only one thank you present you can expect. I was not disappointed. Neither was my team who's being chewing on HARIBOs a bit lately.

Well, after avoiding it for almost a full week it finally caught me again 😔 Luckily husband is now negative, and so is my kid, so the two of them are escaping my contagious ass and heading off for holiday part 1. I'll quarantine at home until I recover.

@jahred_adelman @APfenniger Congratulations 🎉 you two! Somehow it’s interesting (speaking from experience): running two of those amazing experiences at the same time, sometimes feels way more than doubling the data. So yes, things can go wrong from time to time, but the discovery potential is worth it.

Nearly 5 years ago, @APfenniger and I began a long-term, interdisciplinary science experiment together. He will head to Kindergarten this fall. With his help, our follow-up experiment is scheduled to start producing data the third week of November.
