The strength of a neutrino 💪 Recently, the @FASERexperiment at CERN measured high-energy neutrino interaction strength. At the annual @_Moriond_ conference, the FASER collaboration presented a measurement of the interaction strength of electron neutrinos (νe) and muon neutrinos (νμ). The energies of the neutrinos were found to be in a range between 500 and 1700 GeV. The interaction strength of neutrinos had never previously been measured in this energy range. Today, the LHC receives the first stable beams of 2024 – a few short weeks after the first #BeamTime of the year and after several weeks of getting the #LHC ready for chapter three of #LHCRun3. @Samuel_Gregson @CERN Around 20 tau neutrino interactions are expectied during Run 3. Separation between tau neutrino and anti-neutrino can be possible if an outgoing muon charge can be reconstructed by FASER, but the number of such cases will likely be very low.

We also presented our first search for axion-like particles (ALPs)! These could explain the strong CP problem. Unfortunately we see no sign of these new particles, but can set exclusion limits in new regions of parameter space.
