There was a time, not very long ago, when Ben Shapiro could reasonably call himself the king of all conservative media. That’s all over now, writes political columnist Ross Barkan.
Shapiro’s company, ‘The Daily Wire,’ is instituting significant layoffs. Its YouTube channel’s subscriber base is starting to shrink, and its website has emerged as one of the great traffic losers in conservative media. There are ‘Daily Wire’ YouTube videos that now, after a few days online, have less than 10,000 views, a catastrophically small number for a channel with more than 3 million subscribers. The top comments all mock the low view counts.
“If a variety of poor business decisions can be blamed, in part, for the ‘Daily Wire’’s fall from grace — ill-fated investments in feature films, an epic fantasy series, and peculiar merchandise — the greater story is the collapse of Shapiro’s constituency,” writes Barkan. “There are two realities to Shapiro conservatism in 2026: It retains a significant foothold among Republican elites, and it is fast being rejected by the future grassroots of the party.”

Judge audio “I do realize I'm kind of taking a chance on you. — when people stand up, police, experienced police officers, experienced probation officers, and they tell me this guy is a danger to the community”
She acknowledged the risk but only sentenced him to 5 year despite prosecutors requesting 10–12 years and strong opposition from both police and probation
- 20+ year criminal history: Includes violence against police and civilians, firearms offenses, drugs, assault with a dangerous weapon
- He committed a stabbing in 2014
- Armed robbery in Michigan
- He was on probation at the time of the 2020 shooting.
- Released on parole in March 2025, about a year before the recent Cambridge incident

When Big Tech 1) demands and then funds all the nuclear reactors needed to power its digital global surveillance operation, 2) brings in its own water instead of depleting rural aquifers (its backers claim it’s a “closed loop” water system, so it’s just a one-time investment they’ll need to make, and I see no reason they can’t use seawater and make the choice to fund any desalination and delivery infrastructure), 3) agrees to hire only American workers for American data centers, 4) cuts the American public in for a share of its massive computing profits, and 5) pays reparations for all the business and lives they destroyed with their commie nonsense over the last decade, I’ll be open to the idea of letting them build out data centers in the U.S. Until then, they’re the exact same bunch of communists who funded BLM, censored Americans from telling the truth about basically anything, deplatformed their political enemies, and offshored American jobs until they were allowed to import millions of inept and anti-American foreign laborers to replace actual Americans. Congress could enact a federal law imposing liability on all government officials who refuse to respect an ICE detainer / immigration hold. This is an 80-20 issue. Like the SAVE Act. Republicans in the Senate should be forced to vote on it. The House should pass such a bill.

Horrifying video circulating online shows a man suddenly running up and kicking a baby stroller at the Nassau County Courthouse in Mineola, NY. Witnesses say the stroller had a young child inside when the suspect approached without warning, delivered a hard kick, right in front of officers.
Thankfully, the baby appears to have avoided serious injury, but the mother is understandably traumatized.
