In every bear market I see many people rise up by hate farming on influencers, while it may feel deserved (and in some cases it is) let me direct your attention to the stats: In 2022 my channel was almost dead, ironically the best time to buy, but as soon as the market peaked in 2021 my channel was also at an ATH. Now you might think that's because bitcoin crashed right? Let's look at 2025, my channel is again at 2022 levels (yes I took a lot of breaks due to @fedhabit) but the trend is similar across channels. Now bitcoin is almost at the ATH prices so why are crypto channels dead? Because audience wants to gamble altcoins, yes, hardly anyone opens youtube to learn they all just want calls and even educational videos never perform, portfolio structuring, risk management, how to trade meme coins no one cares! People are attracted to the Crypto Markets by headlines, usually when some meme coin does 100x (Shiba inu is the most held token in India). By then it is late to enter alts and most people who stuck around in hard times are already up 5-10x on their dip buys and just take profits and start swing trading (including me). But the audience wont watch you if you don't cover alts, so you start covering alts that are breaking out, assuming people know whats a SL and portfolio structuring, BTC Alts Ratios, risks involved but no, people wait for the crash, some abuse and blame influencers and leave the space, some stick around and learn and eventually make it but thats less than 1%. Even at the top of 2021 cycle people were willing to pay 50$ for premium group but my course which costed just 10$ for lifetime access hardly made any money, so once I recouped the production cost I ended up giving it away for free, people did latch on to the free course but only 20% people watched more than 10% of the course content. Last year we saw rise on Hamster coin and flex-influencers. Now Hamster was a huge waste of time for anyone but the influencers (due to referrals and alot of views) and it was obvious to anyone with mroe than 6 months of crypto experience. But people grinded it hard to make 40$ in 3 months, while genuine airdrop content hardly got 10K views from top airdrop OGs like @gameofbitcoin @CryptoTeluguO it required learning how to navigate the web3 space, Hamster videos got more than 10x views. Now you might say, "tujhe kuch nhi ata tabhi teri videos koi nahi dekhta", lets take @hmalviya9 , he is the undisputed Crypto OG and has been right in predicting the market trends better than most, he also left youtube because of no takers for his educational content. Now I agree most influencers do scams in form of undisclosed shilling, and people like @cryptoady did try to callout many of them over the years, but it is an impossible task to cleanse the space as they will lose maybe 1000 followers but will gain it back quick (too much population) and will earn big $$$$, so it is just the question of whether an influencer wants to do it or not, there is no downside (and an upside of 1K$+ per tweet), if you are actually learning, it is very very obvious and it is not something anyone can solve as brands pay a lot, more if you don't disclose (speaking from personal experience), many don't even pay if you say you will disclose, some people refuse some people take the deal to each their own. Crypto markets are brutal, even the OGs get scammed, in fact many influencers lost money in the latest OTC scandal, but it is part of the game, Crypto is survival of the fittest it is a zero sum game, so if you think someone knows everything and you blindly follow them you are NOT GONNA MAKE IT.
