Fern Turkowitz enjoyed a 47-year career at The NY Times in which she ran the Sports Dept. If you had an issue, she solved it. If you had a question, she answered it. Forever an ally, Fern did everything with a caring touch. She passed away on Sunday. RIP to a great friend. 🙏

27 years ago, hoping to build our portfolios with some freelance assignments, @reidepstein and I went to the D3 Final Four. We were students at @EmoryUniversity then, working @emorywheel. Emory's m. hoops team wasn't there that year; now, they're headed to the D3 championship!

@JimmyTraina Two things: First, wasn't it Pruit with one "t" because his mom couldn't afford a second one? And second, the "lets break into the hotel to meet Color Me Badd" episode is probably tops when it comes music-related 90210 content, IMO.

@SamBorden One of us here is a qualified referee, and it's not me, Sam... I'd imagine there's a common sense provision.. and probably a common sense directive that if you walk off because your coach calls you off, should you be booked?

Wow. Brahim Diaz tries some off-brand Panenka and Mendy saves it. If you're not watching the AFCON final, you're missing out. ICYMI - ref gave a debatable pen to Morocco deep in injury time. Senegal walked off in protest. Eventually they came back and he missed the pen.
