@DeltaData_ I thought it was an excellent race, and the cars provide significant improvement in terms of racing. In a a month or two the field will bunch up and will be even better.

Honestly, right now I have no motivation to analyse this GP.
Maybe it's because when you read so many pessimistic comments you start to lose hope. I won’t deny it — at the moment I’m seeing everything in a negative light.
We simply lack the means and the data needed to carry out a proper analysis. I honestly thought the race was very poor. The vast majority of drivers reported mechanical issues, which makes the ability to interpret the driver factor extremely limited.
On top of that, the time required to analyse each driver and every lap is enormous, yet the conclusions you end up drawing are barely representative of what actually happened.
I don’t know… I just feel disappointed with what I’ve seen today.
Maybe the best thing right now is to take a few days to step back and reflect on a lot of things. Is it really worth putting so much time and effort into a sport that I’m not enjoying at the moment? 🤷♂️

@JeremiahDJohns I was a competitive swimmer growing up. Like yourself nothing special, but decent. One swim meet when I was 14, I got put into a 200m freestyle race next to the (at the time) WR holder for 200m breaststroke.
He did breaststroke vs my freestyle and I got absolutely smoked

I rarely talk about it, but I was a decent-ish AAU basketball player in like 8th/9th grade. Not special, but competent.
Played in one travel ball tourney and got dunked on. I was guarding off ball, and this skinny guard blows by my teammate. I slide over thinking I can help, and I am *not* in time. This guy just jumped and I remember being underneath the basket, below him, thinking 'wait. wait. how is he STILL GOING UP' as he continued to climb and dunk on my face. I distinctly remember being confused how a human could keep elevating that long.
That kid was Lou Williams. Pro athletes are freakish in a way that's hard to describe until you really experience it.

Pro athletes are literally built differently. I went to high school with 2 successful MLB pitchers. Craziest story came from freshman year: During tryouts, one of the tests they had us do was to see how far we could throw a baseball. We walked out to the football practice field and lined up in the end zone. I threw 60-65 yards. Then a kid (the future pro) threw a ball out of the other end zone. As. A. Freshman. Every coach stopped what they were doing, handed him another ball and said “do it again”. And he did. By sophomore year he was throwing in the mid to upper 90’s. You cannot teach that kind of arm talent. You’re either born with it or you’re not. I was not.
