@MRothermere @Bjarne147 @NoContextCounty It puts him in the top 10 opening batters of his era (2006-2018) - and that's ignoring the fact that batting average alone is a very one dimensional way to assess a player (especially an opener).

@RvLeshrac @TychoBrahe Who told you that? As long as you don't need kernel anti-cheat, Linux gaming is amazingly easy.

@PunishedRWR It’s because Britain was trying to undermine and destabilize Russia for its entire history.

I’m sat in my first Essex County Council meeting on Monday morning, listening to a councillor induction presentation. ‘Any questions?’ asks an officer. A hand goes up. ‘Yes’ says a recently elected Labour member. ‘Do I get a pension as a councillor?’. His first question was about how much money he gets. Not procedure, or meeting dates or where the loos are… but how much cash he can grab. Same old Labour.

@Caolan_Scully I wish Twickenham would implement this. Having people constantly standing up to go to the bar mid-game is a pain in the arse for those of us who actually want to see what's happening on the pitch.

@sdmat123 @AriWeather Rain can make the road slippery and impact visibility, so some people opt to pull to the side under bridges if it's really downpouring until it eases. Never seen people block an entire road though.

@AmbDanFried And Russia invaded to stop an expansionist anti-Russian alliance expanding up to its border, crossing its brightest of red-lines. What part of that is difficult to understand Ambassador?

There is war in Ukraine because Russia invaded it.
Peter Hitchens@ClarkeMicah

.@ambdanfried. Why is there a conflict in Ukraine at all? In 1991, Ukraine was a united nation, a successful if sometimes turbulent democracy. After 2014, and the shameful lawless putsch your government rapidly condoned, it was fiercely & violently divided. The 'west' did this.

HEGSETH: Their nuclear facilities have been obliterated SMITH: Whoa whoa whoa whoa. We had to start this war, you just said, because the nuclear weapon was an imminent threat. Now you're saying it was completely obliterated? HEGSETH: They had not given up their *ambitions* SMITH: So Operation Midnight Hammer accomplished nothing of substance HEGSETH: You're missing the point

@PeterBu55648149 @ajsrugby I attended plenty of games at the Ricoh (as it was) and attendance was regularly 8-10k. The stadium was too big for us so it made the crowd look smaller than it was. Down in Wycombe it was regularly 7-9K. 10k would be the perfect size ground.

.@POTUS: "Honoring the British King might seem an ironic beginning to our celebration of 250 years of American independence — but in fact, no tribute could be more appropriate. Long before Americans had a nation or Constitution, we first had a culture, a character, and a creed. Before we ever proclaimed our independence, Americans carried within us the rarest of gifts: moral courage, and it came from a small but mighty kingdom from across the sea."
