Biggest audience on ITV1 on Hogmanay was also a shortened regional news bulletin at 7.15pm with 2.5m viewers, didn’t think I would see the day when regional news bigger than Corrie? (Network news at 7pm & Corrie at 8pm also 2.5m but regional slightly higher.)…Ok, I’ll stop now!

Stranger, but just as true…biggest audience on ITV1 on the Sunday between Xmas and NY was also to a shortened regional news bulletin, 1.9m at 5.20pm. (Biggest non-news audience on the channel, 1.7m for a repeat of a Xmas edition of The Chase)

It’s my understanding McEvoy/Storch have been unable to come up with the non-refundable deposit so Mike Ashley will be named as the preferred bidder for Sheffield Wednesday.
I understand his bid is below £30m so they will be hit with a 15 point deduction next season.
