@akarpf_netpress @SawyerMerritt Not overly pessimistic, just realistic. It takes more than technological breakthroughs to get mainstream buyers to switch and the industry can't change direction quickly. If there's a battery that can take a vehicle 1,000km and recharge in under 15 minute, maybe sooner.

The assertion of @SamFiorani that the auto market won't be EV-centric until 2040 is overly pessimistic and overlooks rapid advancements in technology, policy shifts, and consumer behavior. Major automakers are setting aggressive targets for phasing out internal combustion engines by 2030 or earlier. Governmental policies worldwide are increasingly supportive of EV adoption through subsidies, infrastructure investments, and emission regulations. The pace of battery technology improvements and cost reductions further accelerates this shift. Where is the outrage? Title 42 ends Wednesday. 14,000 migrants are expected to cross the border illegally every day. The Biden admin. still does not have a plan. My House GOP colleagues and I are calling on the Biden admin. to extend Title 42 until a long-term plan is in place.
