@s8mb I understand you're suggesting this for the masses. But incase you didn't know, you can do this yourself in Google earth pro (free) with very limited GIS skills.

Google Maps should publish the square footage (or meterage, if possible) of supermarkets. When comparing different options, pure size is often the best metric to go by.

Say driverless cars improve the deaths per mile figures. This still wont, and imo shouldn't, be readily accepted. I'm not a statistic, I'm a careful driver. It's possible that a driverless car could increase my chance of crashing while reducing the wider population's.
