The Rironi Mau Summit road was launched on November 28th, 2025. We're now in the sixth month since then, so can anyone close to the project give us an update on the progress? Has any part been tarmacked, and are there any bridges under construction? I know there's been earthwork happening, but I'd love to see photos of concrete, mortar, and tarmac if you have them (no earthwork photos, please!).

The data shows that Kibaki and Ruto oversaw periods where moderate increases in public debt were matched by meaningful real economic growth, resulting in higher debt productivity meaning the economy gained more output for every percentage point of debt added. In contrast, Uhuru’s first three years were marked by a much faster accumulation of public debt relative to the growth achieved, leading to a lower return on borrowing. Taken together, the figures offer a straightforward comparison of how efficiently each administration converted debt into real economic gains, helping readers understand the differing fiscal dynamics that shaped Kenya’s economic trajectory under each president.

In recognition of the sacrifice, resilience, and immense contribution of our workers to the growth and stability of our economy, I am pleased to announce a 12 per cent increase in general wages and a 15 per cent increase in agricultural wages. Further, we have reduced the deposit required to acquire affordable housing units from 10 per cent to 5 per cent for all salaried workers. Additionally, we are reforming the Social Health Authority (SHA) to make it more responsive to the needs of our workforce. Accordingly, we have withdrawn restrictive tariff mechanisms that have caused unintended challenges, including the temporary outpatient caps initially introduced to safeguard the fund’s financial sustainability. Moreover, following productive engagements between teacher unions and the government, teachers will now have access to over 9,000 hospital facilities across the country, up from 900, and will benefit from access to all Level 6 hospitals rather than just one as before. These are some of the reforms and commitments we are undertaking as a government to promote the wellbeing of our workers.

Kibaki left a national debt of KES 1.8 trillion. Uhuru Kenyatta left a debt of KES 8.6 trillion. #TheTruthVsTheTrend! Uhuru inherited a strong economy, spending a paltry KES 300 million on debt servicing. Ruto came in when the country’s fiscal space was very tight. Kenya had been listed among 6 African countries that were about to default on debt obligation. Inflation was through the roof. Over 60% of revenue is spent on paying interest accrued on debts borrowed by Uhuru. Very little is left for development. Despite all this, Ruto has delivered in many aspects as compared to Uhuru. In 3 years, Ruto has hired 100,000 new teachers, streamlined the confusion in CBC, and constructed 23,000 new classrooms. Inflation has plummeted from 9.6% in October 2022 to 4.4%. The forex reserves that were lowest in the history of our country now stand at $13.3 billion, up from less than $6 billion. Fertilizer that cost 7,500 is now KES 2,500. Unga that was costing KES 250 is now trading at between KES 110 and 150. Coffee farmers are smiling all the way to the bank because of the best prices they are getting, from KES 50 to between KES 120 and 160. Ruto has in fact created 842,000 new jobs, way better than Uhuru Kenyatta ever did.
