Hosted H.E the President @WilliamsRuto as he officially launched the Nyamira Water Supply Last Mile Connectivity and Improvement Project in Nyamira County an important initiative by the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVSWWDA) under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. Building on the 2019 system expansion, this project is focused on extending treated water services to underserved areas within Nyamira Town and its surrounding peri-urban and rural communities. Designed as a service delivery optimization intervention, it aims to enhance access, reliability, and sustainability of water supply.

As a result, water production has increased significantly from 400m³/day to 3,800m³/day, improving reliability, expanding coverage to previously underserved areas such as Nyamaiya, Mabundu, Kebirigo, and Sironga, and ensuring safer, high-quality water for residents. This transformative project will benefit approximately 30,000 people across West Mugirango Constituency, including Nyamira Town, Rangenyo, Sironga, Kebirigo, Nyamaiya, and Mabundu marking a major milestone in our commitment to equitable access to clean and safe water for all.

STRENGTHENING WATER AND SANITATION SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH STRATEGIC EQUIPMENT SUPPORT This morning marked a major milestone for water and sanitation service delivery as the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Eng. Eric Mugaa, officially flagged off critical operational equipment to the @LVNWWDA under the Malaba Water Supply and Sanitation Project. The ceremony was held at the @CRVWWDA offices in Nakuru. The equipment was supported by The Malaba Water Supply and Sanitation Project which was commissioned by His Excellency the President on 21 January 2024 and incorporates a strong capacity-building component aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery for Busia Water and Sewerage Services Company Ltd (BUWASCO), in line with the Programme’s objectives. The equipment handed over will significantly strengthen BUWASCO’s ability to support water supply operations, sanitation services, emergency response, and routine maintenance ultimately promoting sustainable, reliable, and efficient service delivery to project beneficiaries. Under this component, the following equipment was procured: One (1) 7-tonne truck One (1) potable water tanker One (1) sewage suction tanker Four (4) motorcycles Additionally, two (2) motorcycles procured through the Suswa Water Supply Project were handed over to Narok Water and Sewerage Company to improve service provision. The motorcycles will enable teams to traverse the rugged terrain of Suswa, where the pipeline passes, greatly enhancing logistics, response time, and efforts to curb vandalism one of the major challenges affecting project sustainability. This initiative underscores the Government’s commitment to strengthening institutions, improving service delivery, and ensuring sustainable water and sanitation solutions for communities across the country.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Director David Warui Mwangi, an exemplary public servant who dedicated 11 years of his life to the County Government of Nakuru with unwavering commitment and excellence. David played a key role in shaping the future of vocational education in Nakuru, overseeing the development of the Nakuru County VTC Policy, operationalizing 19 Vocational Training Centers (VTCs), and increasing enrollment from 1,700 to 6,250 learners. His dedication extended beyond the county, serving as Chair of the Kenya Youth Intercounty Sports Association (KYISA) since 2017, and holding key positions, including Director of Sports, Director of Vocational Training, and even acting as CO PSTD. His impact also reached the education sector as Board Chair of Ruiru High School in Solai. His passion, leadership, and service will be dearly missed. On behalf of the County Government of Nakuru, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends during this difficult time. May God grant them strength and peace. Rest in Peace Director David Mwangi.

1/2 I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the last story I was a part of producing before exiting Citizen TV, The Saudi Allure, took top honors at the Media Council of Kenya 2024 awards (Development & Public Affairs Reporting). The story called for accountability, after so many young women had lost their lives in Saudi Arabia, with their families unable to get answers as to what led to the death of their loved ones (most were diagnosed as having allegedly suffered heart attacks). On July 9th, 2020, six-year-old Bridger Walker saved his little sister from a dog attack. He had 90 stitches all over his body, but saved his three-year-old sister from certain death. He stated, “If anyone has to die, it's me. I'm the big brother.” The World Boxing Council recognized him as a full-time world champion.

Doctors at a hospital in Texas informed George Pickering that his son was in a state of brain death. They explained that his son showed "no brain activity" and the decision had been made to remove life support. Pickering, however, was unconvinced by their assessment and resorted to extreme measures by drawing a firearm. He demanded that the doctors continue their efforts to save his son's life, threatening to use the gun if they refused. This situation escalated into a tense standoff lasting three hours, during which Pickering faced off against the police while the medical team performed additional tests on his son. The hospital was secured under lockdown as police negotiators tried to reason with Pickering, who remained adamant. In a pivotal moment, Pickering's son, previously declared braindead, responded to his father's request to squeeze his hand, indicating cognitive presence. Following this revelation, Pickering peacefully surrendered to the authorities. George Pickering II subsequently served a prison sentence of 11 months. Remarkably, his son experienced a complete recovery.

Compassion story: She said, “Don't call the doctor, I want to fall asleep peacefully, with your hand in mine.” He told her about the past, how they met, their first kiss. they didn't cry, they smiled. They didn't regret anything, they were grateful. Then she repeated softly, 'I love you forever!' He returned her words, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully with her hand in his. Love is what matters because man comes into this world with nothing other than love and leaves with nothing other than love. Profession, career, bank account, our goods are just tools, nothing more. Everything stays here. Love, as if there was nothing more important in your life.❤️
