@criprights @vivienkemp10 @tuppsmiles @MithenZoe @CaptainMetadata @ArtistAffame @Psych4Men @SusanGColmer1 @fairybred Late to this conversation, but yes, buying books like these would highly likely not be considered acceptable and my leaning is the same way. It’s also not a cost effective choice when public libraries are available to everyone and will deliver if needed.
English

@vivienkemp10 @tuppsmiles @MithenZoe @CaptainMetadata @ArtistAffame @Psych4Men @SusanGColmer1 @fairybred @SamPaior Some of the books, from Zoes description, sound like they would fit into the category generally regarded as acceptable. And look, you can argue anything. But a LOT of disabled folk are in crisis so the optics on this are bad, and I’m not sure the NDIA would agree with this.

Highlight of the day has to be @SamPaior’s incredible and authentic presentation on NDIS. Amazing! #OutlookCon22

Can our SA-based colleagues please share this and encourage young people with disability from migrant and refugee backgrounds to consider being involved in our study?
They have an important and little-heard perspective to share...

@SeanFewster Disgustingly not surprised. One Adelaide judge had to take extended leave with a broken leg, simply due to inaccessibility. #NotGoodEnough

The fact killer carer Rosa Maria Maione is about to be sentenced, for the manslaughter of Annie Smith, in a court room that is wheelchair inaccessible says a lot about the circumstances and context of this case. #auslaw #truecrime

@ianbfarquhar @CraigHill01 @KirrinaBarry I'd love to see evidence of this so we can fight it if needed, because I suspect this is incorrect information and that no-one has ever had to repay an approved funded support/service from an NDIS Plan.
English

@CraigHill01 @KirrinaBarry Yes, I’ve heard of multiple cases of the NDIS approving things then retrospectively deciding they’re not approved and demanding repayment.
The NDIS, brought to you by the same government who brought you Robodebt.
It’s really quite evil.
English

NDIS approved me for meal preparation and delivery in August last year, but have now reviewed that decision and are demanding I repay the $2,000 they have already paid, or they will withhold 14% of my disability pension each week. They will not negotiate. #auspol
English

@CraigHill01 I suspect this is a major misunderstanding. NDIS does not and has not garnished DSP ever, nor made folk repay approved claims. I'm sure you'll get it sorted Craig. All the best. #auspol

@C_Frohmader @YoungMasterPaul OH Carolyn! How's she doing?
English

@YoungMasterPaul Thank you for posting this. My 19yo disabled daughter is displaying all the symptoms. Can’t get a #RAT; can’t get a #PCRtest cos the booking system is fucked. I’m so scared. Thanks for nothing #Scomo #Dickhead

just found the source! Thanks to @MarcRummy for their work!

I think what this outbreak has taught me, more than anything, is how poorly educated a huge proportion of Australians are.
We really need to spend more on maths education, because so many simply do not understand very basic maths concepts like the one illustrated here. #Covid_19

3. We need to urgently bump up the home vax and testing programs for our most medically vulnerable Australians with disability. We can't get testing or vaccinations at individual homes for homebound for love nor money.

2. 12+ should be allowed to access boosters, now. And prioritise those teens with disability/chronic health conditions.

1. We need a priority, protected testing unit/time for pre-op covid testing. Bloody outrageous that people needing urgent surgeries need to line up with symptomatic and close contacts.
