"This is what happens when politicians treat energy policy as an opportunity for moral preening rather than the engineering problem. The lights do not care what you believe. They go out anyway." - Sam Romain amny.com/oped/op-ed-ele…

@JayCollinsFL Dude you didn't even buy your home - you got it for free courtesy of the Gary Senise Foundation. Also you're now on your FOURTH campaign logo. Throwing in "DeSantis Appointed" like a desperate "pick-me" teenage girl. You're not getting endorsed.

The next chapter for Florida isn't defending freedom. The next chapter is making sure the people who built Florida can continue to afford to live here.

If you believe the polls, @FlaDems have a strong chance to win the Governor's Mansion, if they embrace former Republican @DavidJollyFL. But instead of getting behind the front-runner, you've got progressives, per usual, shooting the donkeys in the tail. Per @LeonardKL:

@NBCNews This isn’t terrible. It’s a one year moratorium to do rulemaking. That’s what more states should look to do. Rulemaking, not a fan of heavy handed state government but give your local government some tools.

Data Center Polling Data: @heatmap_news profiles the 21% of voters who support a nearby data center: - 59% voted Trump - 33% voted Harris - 8% other/nonvoter - 66% men - 32% women - 63% optimistic about AI’s effect on their lives - 10% pessimistic But the underlying poll says: - 71% of all voters oppose a nearby data center - 63% of Trump voters oppose - 73% of rural voters oppose - 55% of Republicans support a national data-center moratorium Even among data-center supporters, only about 29% said they expected AI to create jobs nationally and benefit their own career. Approximately: - 13% expect job losses and fear for their own job - 20% expect job losses but think their job is safe - 22% expect national job creation but are unsure they benefit - 29% expect national job creation and personal benefit - 17% expect little employment effect That argues against leading with the usual “investment and construction jobs” script. People want a benefit they can see on their bill, home or utility system. Like @Starlink giving free service to the neighbors of the @SpaceXAI data center. People can like AI and still reject higher bills, water strain and a hyperscale facility next door. cc: @EnrgyDominance

JUST IN: Florida’s AG announces subpoenas for General Mills and Pillsbury over their use of potassium bromate, a chemical linked to cancer, DNA damage, and even possible hearing loss. @AGJamesUthmeier: "There's been sufficient evidence of ties to kidney, thyroid, and abdominal cancer. It is a genotoxic, causing oxidative stress. It's been linked to DNA damage and other cellular harms. Again, it's not something that we want to risk when it comes to our kids." Officials say this is just the start of the investigation.

@ChristinaPushaw @podiatristdon Poor word choice sure, but I am getting a bit concerned with all the candidates trying to be cute about it. Primaries are nasty but having David Jolly will be worse than the primary drama we are seeing. I am praying we can still see the party rally when it matters.

Sure, we want to be team players and not vote for the Left just because our preferred conservative candidate might not win a GOP primary. I've always voted for the GOP nominee even when he or she wasn't my first choice. But there's a big difference between that, and saying "I'll break my back" to get Donalds or whoever else elected.

While everyone is fighting over whether or not data centers are good for Florida ask yourself how many candidates up and down the ballot are taking money from big developers to push Live Local. And ask why certain candidates supported fake sec 8 housing bills.

This is the real Jay Collins. While conservatives and grassroots activists are fighting to defeat Byron Donalds, Jay Collins was calling him a conservative leader, praising his family, and saying, "If Byron Donalds is the nominee, so be it." He said that despite the controversies surrounding Donalds, including questions about stock trades, his past criminal history, and his public disagreements with Gov. Ron DeSantis. The truth is simple: Jay Collins is comfortable with Byron Donalds as the Republican nominee. Whether it's Jay or Byron at the top of the ticket, he has made it clear he's fine with either outcome.
