@UNFPAZimbabwe is honoured to have joined stakeholders at the Unity Cup Send - Off Dinner in honour of the Senior Men’s National Team ahead of the Unity Cup tournament in the United Kingdom. 🇿🇼⚽ Hosted by @online_zifa the send-off brought together Government, football leadership, the private sector, media, and supporters to show unity and national pride as the Zimbabwe Warriors prepare to represent the nation on the international stage. As #UNFPA we value the transformative power of Sport for social cohesion and youth empowerment. Through our landmark partnership with ZIFA, we are harnessing the unmatched influence of football to promote gender equality, respect, safety, public health initiatives and positive role models for young people - both on and off the pitch. We wish the Warriors every success at the Unity Cup and commend #ZIFA for fostering collective national support for the team.

Wrapped up the @DAIGlobal-led Zimbabwe Accountability & Citizen Empowerment programme this morning. Great hearing from partners working on everything from health procurement to access to documentation & ESG in mining. So good to be among those making a difference in communities.

What does a duck say when it’s feeling great? Kwakanaka…. Sorry, I know this is a terrible joke but I did greatly enjoy the start of my Shona learning journey today.

@SamThompson2026 What did you do to them? Lol. Why are they soaked in water? You are just supposed to eat them. In our culture Tsubvu is known to benefit the health of your teeth.

I’ll be honest - I thought these were large blueberries when we bought them at the roadside in Domboshawa this morning. Turns out they are tsubvu- known in English as the smelly berry finger leaf fruit. An acquired taste I think….

@SamThompson2026 @UKinZimbabwe They vary in taste depending with the type. Some can be delicious/sweet others sour or tasteless. So if it's your first time, try them again from different place.

Good to spend the evening with @SaveChildrenZIM, @SaveCEO_Intl and partners discussing strategic partnerships for social impact - underlining the importance of working together to deliver lasting change for communities. Great food @BronteHotel too!
