We are deeply saddened by the untimely loss of Neil Smart, editor of Colorectal Disease and a valued friend of the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Neil generously supported our society through his visits to Türkiye and his unwavering commitment to advancing science and collaboration. His contributions left a meaningful impact on our community. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire colorectal surgery world. He will be remembered with great respect and gratitude. May he rest in peace.
