Bolt 2.0 is here - and it changes everything about building apps with Bolt. No external Supabase connections. No RLS headaches. No auth setup. No separate analytics or hosting. Plus, you can use Claude code directly inside Bolt. Now everything happens inside @boltdotnew. Here’s how I built a full app in 10 minutes - DB, auth, analytics, and hosting - all with just a few prompts. Everything you need to know about 2.0 🧵

Today vibe coding goes pro. Introducing Bolt v2: → World's best agents (Claude Code, Codex) → Built in backend (hosting, DB, storage, ...) → No error loops, no setup nightmares Now anyone can build without boundaries.

Most vibe coding tools are fun toys, but fail to scale your products with secure & reliable infrastructure. Today this changes. Together with @netlify & @supabase, we’re launching the first unified platform for building & scaling to millions of users:

Thank you both! Sam, I created the repo on June 28th. Did I make the cut? 😳 If I test this and it breaks, can I just rename the repo back to what it was and that will fix it? I guess I just don’t want to kill any of my projects 😅 Hey guys a few more things while I have you before I forget: 1) Just noticed that we still have this old issue lingering of Bolt removing Firebase project credentials from the .env file when you reload a project. This is annoying AF and also creates that blank screen issue. Almost had a panic attack when I saw this again. 2) During the Hackathon I noticed you can’t upload mp3s or wavs to Bolt. Pleeeeeeease fix that. I wanted to add music to my app and had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it done. Mp3s and wavs are usually light weight files, so we should add this to Bolt. Will make the end user experience sooooo much better. Ideally you would even have baked in audio in Bolt that you can just pick and choose from. But maybe that’s a phase 2. 3) For the full proper rollback/check point/all chat history funtionality, that I hope to G is going to be released sooner rather than later, you should look at Claude for inspiration. I was pleasently surprised when I saw that every time you iterate in Claude it creates a new version of your product with one click rollback and full chat history. Each version is called V1, V2, V3 and so on. Such a logical thing to do, yet @AnthropicAI are the only ones doing it. Haven’t seen anyone else do this. Yet that’s how I usually name the files I work on as I make iterations. CC @skipsterdev

@elmd_ quick question before I forget. Can I change the name of a Repo in GitHub that is connected with my Bolt project or will that break the integration/link between them? Thought I should check before I break anything. Would be good to know if this has been tested and confirmed as safe to do.

@SrinivasanSS52 It's because we run entirely in the browser. We can't run native Java/Kotlin or Android toolchain in the browser. If you need something like that, Bolt is not the right tool.

I asked bolt.new to develop for me a Mobile App in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK and it generated a React Native App, which I am not very much interested too alas bolt why you did this way no use for me

@tristanbob @github @boltdotnew @lovable Would this Github integration help with the use case of wanting to rollback to say the initial prompt? Is this easy to do for a non technical person from Github? Bolt only keeps a record of like the last four messages (or something like that) for rollbacks.

I just tested the new @github integration in @boltdotnew and have two big takeaways: 1) The two-way GitHub integration works awesome! - It's very similar to how @lovable works (this is a good thing). - Each message in Bolt creates a new commit, and external commits are automatically pulled into Bolt. - You can pick the branch that Bolt will commit to, which is critical for developing without breaking production. 2) Bolt imported my huge #Cherishable app, ran it, and even let me make changes to it. - Lovable can't run my app, let alone make changes. - Bolt did show me a warning that my app was large and would use a lot of tokens, but it worked just fine. TLDR: If you have a large app that you can't open in Lovable, you can now import it into Bolt with just a few clicks and keep working.

🎉 NEWS! Tailwind v4 now works in WebContainer. Huge kudos to @PhilippSpiess for this crazy quick turnaround, and also @Brooooook_lyn and @toyobayashi for their foundational work on napi-rs and emnapi which makes compiling native Node.js addons to WASM/WASI possible. Lets go!
Adam Wathan@adamwathan

In Tailwind CSS v4.1.14 we've added an experimental WASM build of our native libraries, which means you can now use Tailwind CSS v4 in environments like StackBlitz ✨ Awesome work by @PhilippSpiess on this one and big thanks to @elmd_ for his help!
