Trends in Prostate Cancer Incidence and Mortality Rates Out on JAMA Network jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman… This cohort study analyzed #ProstateCancer incidence and mortality trends in California 🌅from 2004 to 2021, revealing a significant rise in distant-stage prostate cancer diagnoses, particularly from 2011 to 2021, with an average annual increase of 6.7%. The increase📈was consistent across racial and ethnic groups, with the highest rates observed among Hispanic males. Despite earlier declines, prostate cancer mortality rates plateaued between 2012 and 2021 across all demographics and regions. Identifying locations of highest (and lowest) mortality disparities remains critical to understanding what is happening locally and developing location-specific solutions to racial disparities in PCa.

Our paper is out! We examined local characteristics to identify factors driving county-level Black-White PCSM disparities from 2005-2020 for 185,390 patients in 1085 counties using SEER+AHRF data. doi.org/10.1093/jncics…
