@Samdhighpriest I believe there's no corruption free country, but then those develop nations didn't embezzle at the detriment of the development of their countries.

If only nigeria could use of their natural resources well, maybe we'll have become a global power house.

Here’s how Dubai became rich in 30 years (THREAD) 🧵 1/ In the 1960s, Dubai was mostly desert with a small trading economy. No skyscrapers. No global influence. 2/ Everything changed after oil was discovered in 1966. But here’s the twist… oil was NEVER the main long-term plan. 3/ Dubai’s leaders, especially Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, knew oil wouldn’t last forever. So they invested early in diversification. 4/ They turned Dubai into a global trade hub by building world-class ports like Jebel Ali Port. 5/ Then came aviation. Emirates was launched in 1985 — now one of the biggest airlines in the world. 6/ Dubai created tax-free zones to attract global companies and investors. No income tax = massive business magnet. 7/ Tourism became a goldmine. Landmarks like Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah put the city on the map. 8/ They invested heavily in infrastructure — roads, airports, luxury hotels, and smart city systems. 9/ Dubai positioned itself as a safe, business-friendly hub connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. 10/ Today, oil makes up less than 1% of Dubai’s economy. The real money comes from trade, tourism, finance, and real estate. 11/ Dubai didn’t just rely on resources — it built a system that attracts money, talent, and opportunity. 12/ Lesson: Long-term vision and bold execution can transform even a desert into a global powerhouse.

@T_Laalaaa If you say so. Greed co-exist with every leadership globally, the problem with that of africa is that our past heroes over amplified it, so the incoming just have to follow suit or do worse, which is what is play out here in ours.

@Samdhighpriest I wasn't advocating, just saying we would have gone far if our past leaders were not too greedy.

And let me say this to young single ladies in relationship. If you go to cohabit with your boyfriends or you go to spend the weekend at his place. Please make sure that you return his change whenever he asks you to go buy anything. Do not say "it's small, be doesn't need it". Give account of every penny you spent from the money he gave you. Even if he is forming not interested in knowing, do it. If you see money in a random place, don't just take it. Tell him that you saw money somewhere, and that you used it for this or that. Or you ask him why he kept money so carelessly. If you tell him that you need 500k to change your phone, and he's "stupid" enough to give it to you, do not spend the entire 500k on a phone. Spend 250k and show him what you plan to use 250k for. Do not go to your boyfriend's house and start forming over-familiarity with his neighbors. Or going to beg his neighbors for salt, maggi, pepper or even water. If he doesn't have those things in his house at the moment, use your money to buy them. And tell him about it later. There are many ways that you as a lady can show that you're not a liability or a leech. But your ojúkòkòrò will not let you be great. To you, your toto water is all that matters. I pity you. End.

If your wife cannot buy as little as salt without waiting for you, then you're in big trouble in your marriage. Even if she's not working. No wife should go to the market with 10k that you gave her, & she comes back without change. Even if the 10k is not enough. End.

When you caught your girlfriend cheating, what did she say to you? When you caught your boyfriend cheating, what did he say to you? If you can't publicly type it here, you're free to send a DM. AJD.

One of the first painful lessons I learned in love was this... Shouting can win a moment and still damage the peace of a relationship. There was a day early in our relationship that still humbles me whenever I remember it. She had just met my parents, and I was driving her back to her place. I remember a trailer was behind us. Trialers in Naija no be small thing ohh. Hmmm. The kind that makes the road feel small and the kind that can make anyone uneasy. She was obviously scared. She kept mentioning it because she wanted me to take it seriously. Mysekf? I was already tense. Lol Instead of hearing her fear, I heard pressure. So I snapped. Big time snapped. I told her to calm down. Then I made it worse. Like my shouting at her to calm down wasn't enough. I told her to stop nagging. I even compared her to my mother and said that after my mother tells me something twice, she keeps quiet. Wrong thing to say. Wrong tone. Wrong time. When we got to her place, she got down and went inside angry. I knew she was upset, so I followed her in because I did not want us to leave things like that. I never want us to go into our own heads and make up stories. We squash it right there and then while the iron is still hot. Iron can only be bent into shape when hot. At first, she did not want to talk. And I kept pressing. I kept pressing for her to talk until... she shouted .. “What do you want from me?” Omo, that question stayed with me. It still does. Because the truth is, I was not just reacting to that moment. Back then, I was possessive. Easily irritated. Quick-tempered. Insecure about respect. I had even been a parade commandant during NYSC, so that hard tone came naturally to me. She was sensitive, emotional, strong-willed, and she did not like being shouted at. We both apologized. Took a while tough. We prayed. I calmed down before I tried to calm her down. Since that day, I have tried not to shout at her. But there was another lesson too. Even after she forgave me, she became more careful with me. She stopped bringing things up many times. She watched her words more. And that taught me something heavy... One harsh moment can make the person you love start walking on eggshells around you. A lot of young men think shouting is leadership. If your wife has to reduce herself just to keep peace around you, that is love learning how to survive you. That day stayed with me. It still does. Even now, with my children, I am still learning patience. A soft spirit will take you farther than a loud voice ever will.

Some people are really struggling. A man brought his 3-year-old boy to the hospital. The child had been febrile and convulsing. He was asked to make a deposit of ₦100,000 before the boy could be admitted. Without saying much, he broke down. For five minutes, he cried bitterly Then he told us: they hadn't eaten in two days. There was nowhere he could get that kind of money. He said he would have let the boy die at home—but he didn't have the heart. Coming to the hospital was his last resort. It was as though cold water was poured on all of us. We quickly admitted the boy. We treated him for free. The hospital even sponsored his meals while he was on admission. --- Sometimes, it's good to let people see your vulnerability. Especially when you know you can't help yourself. Not everyone who walks through our doors is trying to scam us. Some are simply at the end of their rope. Thank God we listened.

In 1981, when I became General Overseer, I went to visit my village. And the whole village gathered together to welcome me. And then they made a request. They thought that now that I was General Overseer, I would know people. At that time, nobody knew me. I knew nobody except God. From my town to Ile-Ife, it's a distance of 8 kilometers. From my town to Ilesha, it's a distance of 20 kilometers. From Ilesha to Ife is a distance of 32 kilometers, because there was no road to link my village to Ife. Whenever we wanted to go to Ife, we first of all go to Ilesha, 20 kilometers, and then go to Ife, 32 kilometers. We were traveling 52 kilometers instead of 8. So when I came to town, they said, Sir, will you use your good offices that there be a road between Ife and Ifewara. And the Spirit of God spoke to me, and I said, ask them which direction they want the road. And they pointed the direction. And I lifted my hand and I said, in the mighty name of Jesus, let there be a road. I knew nobody. Nobody knew me. But six months later, the federal government decided to construct a road. Now today, i'm lifting my hand to all of you, from this moment onward where there was no way before there will be a way. — Daddy E A Adeboye
