Today, we inspected the ongoing Ipo-Igwuruta/Airport road project and we were impressed with the work so far done. The road was conceived in response to repeated disruptions along the airport road by agitated community members over certain issues in the past. Considering the effect, we embarked on the project in December and today it is already at an advanced stage of completion. We are determined to ensure that every project embarked upon by our administration is completed in due time as we will continue to put the interest of Rivers people first.

Politics in Rivers: Members of the Wike political platform from Etche, Ogoni, Andoni, Okrika, Orashi, Kalabari, Okrika, Opobo, Bonny, and Abua/Odual have worked with Nyesom Wike for years, but they were never trusted enough to be chosen for governor. Choosing Hon. Chindah, his kinsman, is a blatant sign that he doesn't trust other members from other tribes. You shouldn't trust me to save your brother if you can't trust me enough to hold the highest position in Rivers State. But they are so bewitched they do not think straight.

Chinda is an Ikwerre, just like Nyesom Wike (8 years as governor), Rotimi Amaechi (8 years as governor), and Celestine Omehia (5 months). Is Ikwerre the only tribe in the Rivers? Wike is now partnering with another Ikwerre man, O.K Chinda. This would not have been tolerated during Nabo Gram-Douglas' reign. However, all Ijaw people bring their plates to Wike to eat. I fully support the decision of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to withdraw from the governorship race in Rivers State. I also pledge my total support to whoever emerges as the APC governorship candidate and will work for the party’s victory in the general election.

Dear Governor Siminalayi Fubara @SimFubaraKSC Today, even with a heavy heart, I beat my chest with pride knowing that I stood till the very end. Yes, I am hurt. Deeply hurt. Hurt because we believed. Hurt because we fought. Hurt because we carried this struggle like people holding fire in bare hands, praying the light would not die in Rivers State. People will laugh. Some already are. They will mock us for standing with a man we believed in. They will call us names for loving Rivers State loudly and openly. They will say we were foolish for giving our hearts so completely to a cause. Yet, if there is one thing I will never apologize for, it is not being loyal to a tyrant. I stood when it was convenient and when it became dangerous. I stood when hope was high and when fear slowly crept into the hearts of many. Many of us defended your name in the rain and in the storm. Some lost friendships. Some lost opportunities. Some lost peace of mind simply because Rivers state can not be handed over to just one man for absolute control & it demanded a price. Tears may fall today, but shame will never live here.

Wednesday, May 20, 2026 PRESS STATEMENT RE: WITHDRAWAL FROM RIVERS STATE APC GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, great people of Rivers State. I would like to address an important development regarding tomorrow’s primaries. As a committed democrat and a firm believer in the supremacy of strong institutions as the foundation for sustainable development, I have consistently advocated for dialogue, reconciliation, and unity among the various stakeholders and factions within the Rivers State chapter of our great party, the APC. In recent days, the national leadership of our party convened a critical stakeholders’ meeting during which far-reaching discussions were held on the future of the Rivers APC and the imperative of presenting a united front ahead of the primaries and the 2027 general elections. Following that meeting, and after extensive consultations with members of my political team, associates, supporters, and other key stakeholders, I have taken the decision, in the overriding interest of party unity, peace, and collective progress, to respect the supremacy of the party and withdraw from the forthcoming primaries. Accordingly, I wish to formally announce my withdrawal from the race and pledge my full support and cooperation to whoever emerges as the party’s candidate at the conclusion of the primaries. This decision was not made lightly. It is the product of deep reflection, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to the stability, growth, and success of our great party and our beloved state. I wish to sincerely appreciate the thousands of party faithful, supporters, women groups, youths, elders, and well-meaning people of Rivers State who have stood steadfastly with me throughout this journey. Your loyalty, encouragement, and belief in our shared vision have been profoundly humbling and inspiring. Although I may be stepping aside from this contest, I remain fully committed to the ideals, principles, and aspirations that brought us together, and I will continue to work tirelessly for the progress of our party and the development of Rivers State and for the important change we all want to see. Everybody aspired in their own name..." during the interview with Arise TV. Why is the APC National Secretary denying the obvious? Why was the former deputy governor of Rivers State disqualified? If it is not because her umbilical cord is not linked with Nyesom Wike. Why was the former presidential candidate Tein Jackrick disqualified? It is not because his umbilical cord is not linked with Wike.
