This is SUCH an incredible thread in academic writing. And so refreshing. TL;DR: you need monetary, Human support and infrastructural resources in order to have the privilege to write in top conditions. We need to provide more support and by we I mean universities and governments

Can anyone offer any key tips for conducting an effective literature review? #phd #phdchat #Literature

@raulpacheco The best thing about your work in helping students develop these skills is that you make one believe it is so do-able. I always thought these skills were developed in early scholarly stages (max in undergrad) but you have made me believe that these can be developed at any stage.

@PhDForum @DustinHosseini I am finding it really complicated to join. Registered with eventbrite. Then downloaded goto meeting. Have joined your room as well. But it keeps asking me to download software that I already have. Also tried to use the direct meeting ID link but it’s still trying to connect….

@JeremiahOsGo @raulpacheco I started mine at 43, 3 years ago. I don’t have much advice but this post of yours sure gave me some positive energy for myself, as always. Thanks

@raulpacheco Thank you! I am here with the support, encouragement, and assistance of so many others. It feels like a big deal for me, and so many others. It take a village to raise a child. That's me - the child being raised up. And also part of a community helping raise others up!

@raulpacheco works for me too. Thanks a lot for the effort. I also have a request. Do you have any tips for people new to research on how to evaluate an article for its quality. and how to read and interpret the limitations sections there-in to lead to things one might do?
English

Thank you. Few things make me happier than learning from readers that my blog is inspiring and that you find my public scholarship useful. That's the best reward.

@raulpacheco @chileanista Binge read your blog yesterday and I always do it when I need inspiration. Thank u.

@raulpacheco I just know that what is not “recognized” and is just “free” pays off in many other ways. For me, Whenever I feel overwhelmed I go and take a look at your blog and always find something that helps me out. I know it doesn’t say all I want to say but still a big big Thanks!

Proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks: after years of frustration with citation managers that I eventually stopped using, I finally started using a basic Excel spreadsheet tailored to how I read and write. Life-changing. Thanks to @raulpacheco for the inspiration!
