Yesterday, Gov. Kemp cut $2.5 million for homeless veterans, more than $9.4M to address domestic violence & more than $3M for sexual assault victims. Today, he announces a special session & the state will pay to bring lawmakers back to Atlanta in June. Where’d he find the $?

On June 17, a nearly all-white Republican caucus is coming to purge Black, Hispanic, and Asian American lawmakers and steal what Black Georgians fought, marched, and died to build. Enough is enough. Break the Republican trifecta. Vote like your life depends on it. #gapol

Clay Fuller won by 12 points. Sounds solid, right? Except Trump carried this same turf by 30+ points just 18 months ago. Every single county in the district shifted left — including a massive 30-point swing in Floyd County.

On this day, 58 years ago, my father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was taken from us by assassination while still fully committed to confronting poverty, racism, and militarism. Even now, the truth of who he was and what he stood for is too often softened or reshaped into something easier to accept. But my father was not a convenient symbol. He was a man of deep conviction, disciplined courage, and unwavering love. He gave his life calling this nation to confront injustice and choose a better way. Today, I reflect not only on the pain of his assassination, but also on the power of his witness. His life, his sacrifice, and his commitment to nonviolence still call us to reject hate, resist injustice, and create the Beloved Community. On this day, I hold both the weight of that loss and the responsibility of that legacy. #MLK

58 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Georgia’s greatest son, was taken from us in a violent act of hate. His legacy lives on in the work we do to build his beloved community and to bend the moral arc of the universe towards justice.

With only one legislative day left, these Georgia Republicans voted for SB 175 to protect confederate monuments rather than help real, living, and breathing constituents. Let’s send them home… #gapol
