Yes Sami, apparently emirates are pushing Airbus for a potential A350-2000 and also Boeing for a stretched version of the 777X. It's going to be a future nightmare for them when the A380's have reached their shelf life, landing slots in 15 years time will be even more of a premium

@Turbinetraveler Because airbus and rolls royce have yet to produce both plane and engine of a larger capacity than that of the 1000 and 900 with an engine cycle life of over 2000 hours. The 1000s engine cycle is not enough

Why is Emirates so reliant on the long-delayed Boeing 777X instead of Airbus's A350? Initially promised for 2020, the jet is now 6 years late.
