In Helmand province, water means survival. Through a Cash-for-Work project, @ICRC is rehabilitating an irrigation canal, building protective walls, & restoring access to water for 900+families. Helping fields grow again & communities stand stronger after years of past conflict.

Kabul woke up under a blanket of snow this morning ❄️ Beautiful to see, but for families without food, firewood, or coal to keep warm, winter is a daily struggle for survival.

Affected by recent outbreak of hostilities, communities in Zazi Maidan, Khost, lost homes, livestock, and livelihoods. @ICRC_Af and @ARCSAfghanistan provided cash & emergency assistance to 430 vulnerable families — to support their most urgent basic needs.

The @ICRC continues to distribute assistance to the @ARCSAfghanistan in order to support communities affected by the #Kunar earthquake: ⛺️ Shelters & tents 🚰 Water supply networks ⚡️ Generators 4⃣9⃣4⃣tents are already installed & an additional 500 tents will be set up soon.

Setting up tents by #ARCSAfghanistan volunteers for thousands of families is hard work. But then, nothing compares to the heartbreak of #KunarEQ survivors moving in after losing loved ones, homes, livelihoods. This is more than shelter. It’s survival, grief & healing.
