@bowtiedstocks It was meant to be done by 2024….already 2 years late and 3 more to go…
English

Brisbane’s cross river rail project had an original budget of $5.4bn, with passenger services meant to start in 2026
The revised budget is now at $19.0bn with passenger services now expected to start in 2029
So that’s a $13bn budget overrun and 3 year time overrun
So was this ever really an infrastructure project ? Or was it actually a Labor disguised welfare project ??
English

@bowtiedstocks @timbogong @samstrades FWIW I’m hearing that the LNP govt is going to quietly start cutting jobs after the June budget.
Not 2012 Newman style, but the public service employment boom will go into contraction.
They are doing it over the next 12-18 months before pausing ahead of the election in 2028.
English

It’s a very thinly traded market with low liquidity and little stock for sale, so it won’t take all that much to move the needle
Heaps of white collar jobs at risk with corporate cost cutting, AI efficiency, etc
And higher rates slows everything down and some companies naturally go bust
I don’t believe everyone can just be an NDIS dog walker at $90 an hour and this can work out for our economy and propadee markets medium term
English

When I say Aussie propadee will fall I’m not saying it will be a uniform 30% fall in each city / market across the country
Look at Melbourne for example - price growth only 9% last 5 years
That won’t fall as hard as a south east Qld or Brisbane for example where I think the price falls will be closer to 50% or more in real terms

BREAKING NEWS - I've got a new plane, Sarah.
Yes it was donated. Yes I'm super happy. Yes it's fast. Yes it's amazing. Yes it's going to annoy the Guardian. Yes it means I can visit more regional towns across the country more often.
Yes it's a Cirrus G7. Yes it's sexy. Yes I have a pilot.
No I won't be doing welcome to country each we land. No it's not battery operated.
I also want to give a huge shout out to two wonderful, patriotic Australians, Angus and Sarah Aitken for their enormous $1 million dollar investment in myself, Malcolm Roberts, Sean Bell, Tyron Whitten, Barnaby Joyce and future One Nation candidates this week.
Two other tremendous friends of One Nation by the names of Adam Giles and Ian Plimer were also on hand to support the party with donations of $500,000 each.
Their faith and investment in One Nation is an enormous help towards our next federal campaign and I can't thank them enough.
We have a lot of additional fundraising to undertake between now and the cut off in December to combat the uni-party ahead of the 2028 federal election.
I want to pass on my sincere thanks to everyone who has made a contribution to One Nation over the years. I cannot thank you enough for the hope and encouragement you give me to help turn this country around.
I wish I could do all press releases like this....
Keep an eye out for my maiden voyage.

I’m very sure the Australian soldiers who went ashore on that beach at Gallipoli in 1915 had little idea they were writing one of the most definitive chapters in the history of their young nation.
Although we had already been a country in our own right for a few years, it’s arguable Australia came of age on that very first Anzac Day.
Australians were a different breed in those days. In the early days of the Great War, many young men rushed to volunteer for king and country. They had little idea of the suffering and deprivation that lay ahead of them, but even when they experienced it they fought bravely and they fought well for years before that terrible conflict came to a close.
And they wrote a legacy which we still commemorate to this day. That’s an important point: Anzac Day is not a celebration. It’s a solemn commemoration; for me and many Australians, it’s the most important on our calendar.
I believe that as a nation we’ve lost some of the national spirit embodied by those young soldiers at Gallipoli, and embodied by all Australians who have served in uniform since the first Anzac Day.
Do many younger Australians today understand the significance of the sacrifices we commemorate? I don’t know, but what I am sure of is that many young Australians today have been taught the very existence of their country is a crime, an injustice, and something to be ashamed of.
It’s hardly a view that’s going to encourage someone to put on a uniform and serve. It’s not a view to which anyone would sacrifice something meaningful like their liberty or their life.
Fortunately it’s not a universal view. I’ve met many veterans of recent service. Some are carrying on family traditions of service; others are forging new traditions. That spirit I spoke of still defines them, and above all it’s this spirit which we acknowledge on Anzac Day.
I’m a proud Australian and proud to commemorate Anzac Day. I’m always proud of the national spirit which defines the service and sacrifice of our veterans past and present, but I’m worried it’s slipping though our fingers.
I believe that makes Anzac Day supremely important today: a solemn reminder that when the world was at its worst, the best of our country stood up united and defined what it means to be Australian.

@limelite001 Nope. I voted Liberal at the last election.
ONP helps Labor if anything.
Just a regular guy who sees ON for what it is. Vote for them if you like.
They won’t get anything done.

@PaulineHansonOz 30 years.
30 years of being in parliament and achieving nothing.
Thanks and say hi to Gina for us.
English

One Nation listens to people in the real world to get our policies and make sure you get your voice on the floor of Parliament.
Australians are hurting after decades of major party rule. Families and businesses are being crushed by taxes and red tape.
I truly believe we can turn it around. Australia can be restored to a prosperous, rich country. It just takes some politicians with guts to do it.

The Prime Minister held a press conference over the weekend to announce he'd bought "100 million litres of diesel".
Australia uses 92 million litres of diesel a day.
So the Prime Minister called a big press conference to tell Australia he's secured just over one day worth of fuel.
Australia used to be self reliant. We didn't have to buy fuel off other countries because we refined it all here.
Net-Zero and Climate Change policies shut our refineries down and made us reliant on foreign countries.
We have enough oil, gas, coal and uranium to last us thousands of years.
It's time to end Net-Zero so we can use our own resources for cheap energy and fix the cost of living crisis.

English

@PaulineHansonOz 30 years.
30 years of saying “I have had enough!” while doing nothing and achieving nothing.
You have achieved net zero. Nothing in 30 years.

@PaulineHansonOz Will she Zoom in to parliament question time?

The recount for the seat of Narungga, South Australia, where a missing box of ballot papers was found has been completed.
I want to congratulate One Nation's new MP Chantelle Thomas as she has increased her margin of victory from 58 to 74 votes after the count.
This confirms there will be 7 One Nation MPs headed to the new South Australian Parliament, led by Cory Bernardi.
