Considering your salary is tied to them, you give a partial answer. I just want to make that clear. I do think WealthSimple is doing cool things, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s the best Canadian unicorn to work at, or that it’s the best “new gen” company to work at. Finance is boring at its core (for good reasons) and there’s no frontier to conquer in that sector. It also shows that Canada doesn’t allow ambition to flourish when every company that’s allowed to scale are software based.
