The way Baba Ijesha is being celebrated right now is part of the reason nothing ever changes. A man was convicted of molesting a 14-year-old girl, yet people are celebrating him today. A successful woman went ahead and had a baby with him, and instead of facing public criticism, they're being showered with praise. We're no longer just normalizing these things we're rewarding them. And somewhere, another man is watching and taking notes.

I was humiliated today. On my way back from work, I stopped at a nearby store to grab a few things. The moment I pointed at the drink I wanted, the seller looked me up and down and said, "All these fresh yahoo boys na this drink them dey like." I told her I'm not a Yahoo boy.
