I draw sometimes. I love anything animation/anime/Comics/Manga related, especially Glitch Productions. (🚫A.I.) (They/Them)

Everyone really likes Leviathan. But I honestly like this Turtle the most. She's my favorite. There are a few more interesting moments in this, from silhouette to detail. I don’t know tbh. But it's really up to people to decide what's cool and what's not. Have a nice day ❤️

Mainstream writers saw Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and rather than take any lessons from the absolutely killer pacing, proper execution of deconstruction and fine balancing act of 3 antagonists, they decided the realistic panic attack was the thing to copy. This is why we can’t have nice things.

i get what this criticism is going for but honestly the whole "realistic depiction of a panic attack" meme kind of demotivates me as a someone who really wants to write about mentally ill characters

"Deconstruction" can be used in a lot of different ways, from academic to storytelling. The "breaking down" could be an essay or it could be an "updated" story that's deliberately breaking expectations. Yes, subverting a narrative is a variety of deconstruction. That's basically how it's being used here, where PiB:TLW is being used as an example of subverting / deconstruction a narrative, here meaning basically breaking audience expectations but still ultimately telling a good story. It gets used in an academic sense in a much more dry / political way, where "deconstruction" is basically any sort of fundamental analysis of core values from a critical perspective.

@Sample_Chample @Critical_Scribe Breaking down a common plot line or theme in an analytical way or reversing it. Like instead of a "hero saves princess" story, a paper talking about how that theme and why that story gets told, or deliberately changing it by telling a story where a princess saves herself.
