@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu And years of records will also be translated overnight after all it’s just a matter of one day right? 😅

@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu Thank you so much for using your small mind without understanding the ground reality. From tomorrow students will be out selling tea and pakoras while teachers go off to translate Urdu. Okay happy now😄😄😄

The Peoples Democratic Party said the Jammu and Kashmir government’s move to drop Urdu as an eligibility for lower and middle-rung posts of the Revenue department was “an attack on culture and identity”. thehindu.com/news/national/…

@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu Systems don’t run on opinions they run on expertise. So before calling for change at least understand what it actually takes.

@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu It’s ironic that people casually say replace Urdu without understanding the ground reality. Even to replace Urdu, you need people who actually know Urdu to read interpret and accurately translate decades of records. This isn’t a switch you flip overnight

@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu Lol do you even have any idea how old Urdu is and since when it’s been used in the revenue system? This isn’t a single letter you can sit and translate overnight into another language. First learn a little about Urdu then come back and talk🤣

@SamreenZehra17 @the_hindu lmao, you really think your argument will work on me? 1. State can spend money on Darbar move, it for sure has enough money to translate the system. 2.State can train in service officers. 3. What was the need to reintroduce Urdu when it was removed from compulsory status?

#WATCH | Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: PDP leader Iltija Mufti stages a protest with party workers over the protection of the Urdu language She says, "We have come here because Urdu is being removed. The National Conference has attacked Urdu language. Urdu is a part of our faith and culture. This is happening because of the National Conference. Urdu language is a part of our civilisation..."

@Sunbaked961 @the_hindu Look beyond religion and politics. No one is imposing Urdu on anyone. When the system itself runs on Urdu is it really right to remove it from the system??

@the_hindu It is literally apartheid if Urdu is imposed on Hindu minorities of Jammu and Kashmir, Urdu isn't our language why it is compulsory for posts of Revenue Department itself speaks many unspoken stories.

@the_hindu Removing Urdu from the revenue system is not just an attack on language or culture it is an attack on the entire system. If Naib Tehsildars and Patwaris don’t know Urdu how will the work be done? How will the system function?

"Stop misleading people on Urdu. There is no order removing it from syllabus or recruitment. Such claims create confusion. Opposition must question responsibly, not spread fear among the public." Advisor to CM @nasirsogami.

@TahirPeerzada_ In between all these languages Urdu has always been the easiest bridge for communication. Promoting languages is a good thing but turning it into a political issue is unnecessary.

@TahirPeerzada_ Kashmiri is our mother tongue and promoting it is absolutely necessary. But the reality of Jammu & Kashmir is that we have multiple regional languages. Kashmiris don’t understand Pahari or Gojri, and speakers of Pahari and Gojri often don’t understand Kashmiri either.1/2

Urdu is suddenly the headline—a beautiful meethi zaban now being politicised! Truth is that most of us can’t read a patwari’s file or a police report! I couldn’t do well in Urdu till 9th—writing an essay on Gai aik paltu janwar hai felt like life’s biggest test! 😆 We debate Urdu but ignore our own mother tongue—Kashmiri , which we neither promote nor can read or write! And! The real tragedy is that our children can’t even speak Kashur anymore—yet instead of focusing on that we keep building narratives!
