Through participatory sessions such as power walks, community mapping, and resource mapping, #women in Tangulbei are taking the lead in developing a local early warning and early action system to strengthen community resilience to the #ClimateCrisis. Why should women be involved? When men migrate with livestock in search of pasture and water, women are left behind to shoulder the burden of care, finding food, caring for children and the elderly, and walking longer distances for water. Yet, they are often excluded from decision-making spaces on disaster preparedness. By ensuring women have a voice and leadership role in identifying early warning signs, communities can better prepare and act before disasters strike. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA), with support from #ANCP @ActionAid_aus @DFAT.

The Gender Responsive Alternatives to Climate Change project, under the Australia NGO Cooperation Program (#ANCP) and funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (@dfat ), continues to strengthen community resilience across Tangulbei, Kathonzweni, and Elangatawas. This week, the project is conducting a Training of Trainers for women with disabilities on Early Warning and Early Action in response to the growing impacts of the climate crisis. This initiative seeks to enhance local capacity, promote inclusive disaster preparedness, and ensure that women with disabilities are at the forefront of community-based climate resilience. This important milestone coincides with a significant global development ,the establishment of the Disability Constituency as a stand alone group at #COP30 . Previously integrated within other constituencies, this new recognition underscores the growing acknowledgement of the critical role persons with disabilities play in shaping equitable and effective climate policy. Together, we are advancing a more inclusive, gender-responsive, and sustainable approach to climate action. #DFAT #ANCP #GRACCProject

#Justice4SamsonOumaWanda who was arrested in a police swoop on Sunday, 7th September in Kitale. He was taken to court on Monday, 8th September and then back to the station. Family claims Samson told them he was seriously beaten at the police station before being transferred to Kitale Main Prison. Family followed up and managed to see him while in Prison on Sunday 14th September where he confirmed that he was beaten while at the police station. As the family was working to get Samson released from Prison, on Tuesday 16th September they were called by the Prison and told that Samson died and his body is lying at the morgue. Samson leaves behind a wife and two daughters,
