A message to Sony and Playstation from me, a lifetime fan:
PS1 was the first console I ever had for myself, and I have loved and played on every playstation console and handheld.
Through my years, I have over 700 games across all ps platforms and over 300 platinum trophies. I buy and play games, because Playstation is my favorite place to play ä.
Please Sony, all I ask for you is to care. To care about the fans like me who love physical media. It's the feeling of having physical discs that I can't describe. Putting into the PlayStation and playing it, no better feeling
As a long time fan, all I ask is that you care. The goodwill I once had is getting smaller by the day and the company that was innovative, fun and made the games I love is not the same anymore.
If you have any heart left, please show that you care. That's all fans like me ask you to do.
Thank you for reading if you did, whoever you are. This came from my broken heart today. I don't have much energy to give, I feel sad.

More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs: - They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc) - Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans - They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time. - Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Just to destroy any misconceptions. I'm not against digital media. I'm just against the option of physical media being taken away from me.
Unlike PC, console is a closed ecosystem so physical is VERY important.

Since we are headed towards a forced all-digital future for video games (yuck), here are things I hope to see:
- No more licensing. If we buy it, we should own it. PERIOD.
- Permanent price drops for games as they age
