VERY IMPORTANT EMAIL FROM OUR EDITORIAL TEAM: "Health 👏 care 👏 is 👏 two 👏 words. Yes, even when you’re using it as a modifier (e.g., “health care coverage”). Even when spellcheck tells you it’s one word. They’re lying. It’s two."

As seen in @playbookdc: @HRC ran an ad on Grindr for partygoers at last night's Grindr party and tonight's White House Correspondents' Dinner. Because HIV prevention and treatment should be fully funded, and everyone should stay safe--no matter who they go home with.

Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia— AOC: Wah wah wah. We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no. Republicans have fought for partisan gerrymanders across the United States of America. And these are the rules that they have set. And so if the Republican Party wanted to start this, they did this in North Carolina. They drew out three Democratic members of Congress in North Carolina. They did it in Texas. What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down. And what they’re mad at right now is that we are here in a new day. And we have been asking the Democratic Party to stand up and fight, and now they did—and now the Republican Party doesn’t like the fact that they are fighting against someone who actually will stand up for the American people. So if Republicans decide that they would like to revisit a ban on partisan gerrymandering, I welcome them. We have the bill right here to end this all today. But they don’t want to, because they like pursuing and continuing to enact an unfair electoral landscape. And so we have an obligation to defend ourselves.

First in @AP: @HRC launches $15M midterm election campaign to flip Congress and elect more LGBTQ+ leaders nationwide; LGBTQ+ voters could make up 10% of electorate, and new data shows 92% of them plan to "definitely vote" in the midterms. Via @mrbrownsir apnews.com/article/human-…

@madkenney feels very low, but only a one year deal, and NY also paying their big 3 + Sabally. If she comes back this season at her previous level and decides she wants to make more money next season, she'll find it.

@Richard37215662 also could not be clearer that she will own this selection. she's heard the criticism of the lack of head coaching experience and took it on directly. she has confidence in this pick, which is great to see, and seems like there is alignment to give resources.

It is clear after watching the Rutgers press conference yesterday that AD Zinn is an excellent communicator with a clear vision to win. The team will get players early on, especially when the portal opens in April. I am upset at Chante Murray from Canada de-committing and going to WVU. Canada has developed great players since Kia Nurse. She is an uber talent at the wing. We shall see on that one.

We've almost reached that magical time of year when everyone in America puts aside their differences for a few weeks and comes together as one nation in our united hatred of Duke basketball.

@Richard37215662 I respect confidence & speed from Zinn here...but feels like RU could have gotten someone with head coaching experience. Yes Ivey and Ralph are huge success stories, but there are plenty of assistants who don't make it as HC. Zinn will own this--which she feels comfortable with.

First, huge congrats to Gary Redus on being named the coach of Rutgers women's basketball this am. He has been a very effective recruiter and has a big, charismatic personality and the A word- alignment has to be used again, as it was used in the very successful AD hire of Zinn. Let's look at the process: Is there precedent- Yes. Shea Ralph and Niele Ivey got similar type bumps and are stars now in the coaching ranks. The hook to Redus is that they all coached under great, Hall of Fame level coaches. Why the rush- The portal is not open and one could argue that 7-10 more days does not change the dynamic. But he will presumably start immediately and can start recruiting. Was anyone else offered- No. Both Carly Thibault of Fairfield and Megan Griffith of Columbia were contacted and chose not to interview. They both have great jobs and are happy. It does not appear that Tammy Reiss of URI was in the mix at all. Redus appears to be the target from day one or even before. Who might join the staff- Seems obvious that there will be a top x's and o's person, probably from the SEC (probable) or Big 12. Also, a google search last night revealed that Coach Redus has a sister coaching in the ranks, Manisha. Could she join? Salary- A coach who was at one point interested in the job and made inquiries, said in the $800,000 range, similar to Coquese. Middle to upper middle Big Ten. President and AD- They are people of action that don't let grass grow. They do it their way. Kudos- To Trilly Donovan who had this nailed virtually from day one. The northeast- There are great local players in 27 and 28. Can he make inroads with them early on? We shall see. Reaction from Big Ten coaches- The most pervasive word was surprise, which is not a negative. Overall- Solid B to B plus, with the mantra high ceiling present. Middle of the Big Ten should be an early goal.

Andy Beshear gets it--you can talk about the priorities of your constituents AND refuse to throw the most vulnerable under the bus. This is not an either or. This is about standing strong in your values.

What the House GOP is voting on today: A bill to criminalize health care for trans youth that could throw doctors and parents in jail for 10yrs What they are NOT voting on today: A bill to extend health tax credits that would prevent rising costs for 24M Americans #Priorities
