My Threads experience to this point has been pretty underwhelming - but then I am not really anyone of any kind of note so the interaction ratio is always likely to be different 🙂

I've also spent a good amount of time on Threads. While I can't speak to any anti-link processes they have in place, my posts just commenting or featuring an image get way more engagement than ones promoting my work.

Not to get granular here, but X has become the shittiest place for publishers because any post with a link gets throttled. That's why you see content creators tweet and then reply to that tweet with a link. This was also a link to subscription site. OK back to Habs aggrievement.

@conrat4567 An industry which is still widely treated as somehow ‘other’ despite the huge amounts of money flowing in and out of it. Which is the point here.
You watch a lot of films, people say ‘ok’. You tell them you play a lot of games and an awful lot of folks still think you’re weird.

Someone can play Candy Crush every day on their commute and will still say ‘oh my know I’m not one of *those* people’.

@SamuraiPizzaRob Nerds in a basement? This isn't 1998, everyone is playing video games. Phones and Tablets are making up a massive margin of that and non gamers make up the bulk of players.
The fishing industry in the UK doesn't make nearly as much as the gaming industry. Attitudes have shifted
