Looking at the remarkable success of Iran's tech in missiles, drones, infrared tracking etc, I am convinced it's because they don't have a stock market. Their engineers build real products instead of food & lipstick apps for 500x PE. India's real teji will start when India has a 5-10 year bear market, and people go back to building real businesses instead of the fluff that gets billions of dollars of mkt cap these days.

On IT Sector: The largest weights in the Nifty IT Index today trade at 17.5x trailing multiples with ROICs of over 45% adjusted for their weight. · In fact, nearly 60% of the index (by market capitalization) is currently trading below the 33rd percentile of its historical valuation range. · These firms are holding ~9% cash as a % of Market cap (as on 17th March 2026), · More than 6% free cash flow yields, · At the most oversold readings on chart since global financial crisis and · The biggest underperformance versus global tech names on record. In short, the sector has no price froth, is devoid of valuation froth and is in a bad business cycle. The weight of the IT sector in the Nifty 50 is now at its all-time lows, suggesting that the sector is currently under-owned relative to its historical importance in Indian equity markets. We do not claim special insight into the ultimate impact of AI on Indian IT. That future is unknown, so we prefer to rely on valuations. Crucially, margins have not yet shown the kind of damage that typically signals true sector distress. Even in a bear case of no revenue growth and margin compression, the downside appears more like a de-rating to ~13–14x trailing earnings than a collapse in business quality. Our base case is that these companies will continue to play an important role in enterprise technology and may even become more useful as clients adopt stronger tools. In investing, we have found that the valuation effect is often more powerful than the growth effect. We call it ‘cheap effect’. These firms have no debt and a high and stable return on equity and hence are a price-setter. Why would this competitive advantage necessarily go away? It may possibly go away but very, very slowly. The market seems to have priced this very gradual process as a one-year acceleration. High quality moderates the rate of regression; low debt also moderates the rate of regression. At current prices, we see limited terminal-value risk and therefore remain overweight.

Just so that I don't misunderstand the trade deal: we have had exports of $ 86 BILLION to US, imports of around 45 billion . Surplus of ~40 billion dollars. Now, we will still export the same, but import $ 500 billion without duty, right? Even assuming this is over say, 5 years , we will export ~ 400 billion and import ~500 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of ~ 100 billion with Amreeka? What am I missing here?
