@facelessDumbass @mister_L121 @zxidtxt Idk I feel like in many ways it showed that Endeavor was truly capable of being a good hero but that doesn't mean he was a good father or even person. And Natsuo isn't demonized for cutting him off (as so often happens with such stories).

@mister_L121 @zxidtxt i’m being a hater calling him a hack, and I did lowkey forget Natsuo cutting contact. But i just feel like he glorified Endeavor a bit too much in his path of redemption

i think more redemption arcs should present a true challenge as in "what if your loved ones don't forgive you, would you still want to change?", i feel so much male character redemption is carried not by their actions but by women priorizing love over themselves.

@JageeMared @Pebblet5 @zxidtxt That the narrative shows one of his sons acknowledges he has changed while still deciding to cut Endeavor out of his life without being demonized is important. It's sad and tragic but also realistic that there is no magic fix to what has been broken.

@Pebblet5 @zxidtxt No, he was fighting for atonement. Not redemption or forgiveness. What makes his arc interesting is the nigga is trying to do right w/o thinking about being forgiven. But you see the rightfully deserved pain on his face anytime certain fam members reminded him 1/2

@CarolineSiede I'm sorry but how is the vibe that he lost track of his son in the chaos? I don't understand that claim. I thought it was pretty clear that he didn't know what happened after he dropped his son.

I really noticed this with the water slide dad in E10. The vibe of the storyline is that he lost track of his son in the chaos, but the text is that he was desperately holding onto his son 20 feet in the air and then dropped him. Those are two very different things!

@shujaxhaider Notice the patronizing “playing with dolls” comment to criticism that the show’s failure to acknowledge Robby’s treatment of his female subordinates is problematic. I think the blatant misogyny with this comment is something we all need to talk about.

here's my problem with "the pitt": the way the season turned out was NOT the same as the way i depicted it on my kitchen table using my homemade "the pitt" character dolls and impersonating all of their voices. and i think we all need to talk about that

@endofanerajc Also based on the way ppl I know with seizures talk about them, they are extremely disorientating to come out of. The Pitt is not a good place to be coming out of seizures in and could even be a danger for Al Hashimi herself depending on what/who is around at the time.

i think some of the pitt fandom was raised with “it’s not a disability it’s a superability” or “my disability means i just need a friend” and they don’t understand that a lot of disabilities are actually disabling. erasure of the seriousness of a disability is still ableism
parker 💫@CRESSlDACOWPER

i'm just so.... like robby just read that she's been dealing with seizures for THIRTY FIVE YEARS & thinks she's not fit to run the ED despite everything she's done in those 35 years that proves she's more than capable of running the pitt for 3 months (maybe more if she stays)

@_parasocial @MatthewFerrari Well ppl seem to be missing the way that Drs who clearly thrive on follow up like Mohan struggle and burn out in the ER, so I guess next season they need to directly face the camera and state "ER staff often don't get resolution on cases and that can be traumatic for us"

@MatthewFerrari also it’s just the nature of working in an ER. you stabilize/treat people and they go home or get handed off to a different department and you never have a full picture of the ending. greys anatomy ruined brains by having “surgery” with an insanely broader scope than irl

if you scroll down most of these aren't storylines (the clerk talking to the ICE agent), could be resolved in the finale (baby Jane Doe), have already been resolved (Robby/Noelle and Louie), or just things like they don't understand about the show (Robby liking Whitaker)

storylines from this season that probably won’t get adressed or resolved, or stuff i want to be adressed (THREAD): -santos’ self harm -whitaker and amy -langdon’s marital/family situation -cassie’s dating life (??) -dr. j vs hipaa -dana’s mental state -the ai charting

@DDDurango @once_poison_ivy @babyjunedoe Only thing I can think of is if the dad found his kid he was hanging on to but given that the guy left for surgery he almost certainly is not coming back to the ER. (almost like part of the trauma of working in the ER is not getting resolutions)

@raygretts Like Langdon thought he could self medicate withdrawal without becoming addicted bc he also held those attitudes about addicts. How are ppl missing that the hubris and judgement was what caused his downfall???

Ok I’m not done being annoyed. People say this shit because they see addiction as a moral failure and not a health problem. And see addicts as subhuman. Addiction can happen to anyone at anytime.
JoeI@whitefeelimgs

The Pitt really mangled the Dr. Langdon “addiction” arc. He isn’t even a drug addict. He injured his back and took legal and medically necessary pain meds. He developed a tolerance and became physically dependent on them

@Artisticneed My read on it was a sort of older generation bemusement. Like common sense would tell one that Santos isn't the first Dr with that mentality that McKay has met, so McKay was probably thinking about how she may or may not change while realizing arguing over it won't do anything.

Santos was being callous & bitchy in a totally normal & expected way for someone that deals with people all day, she’s not satan for it. It’s also clear that McKay doesn’t really vibe with it. Which is consistent to her character. It’s info on Santos & her relationships in the ER

I feel basically everyone on here is misreading the McKay and Santos scene in last week’s episode but maybe that’s just me.

@Srirachachau And the idea that an actor has toxic rabid stans will 100% hurt an actress of color's opportunities way more than a white or male one. It isn't fair. It is genuinely frustrating to watch them sabotage her.

Really speedrunning the worst of the toxic fandoms. So many people were so upset with me for saying Supriya Ganesh will have a good career post-Pitt because she’s talented, meanwhile her supposed fans are really going out of their way to sabotage her. It’s wild
ihavecripplingdepression@notinterextinq

imagine being Supriya opening social media and seeing that your fans are not only wishing death upon your boss but they are sending inconsiderate comments to his post where he remembers his friend who died embarrassing.

@muaddibstyle Also heaven forbid a doctor actually want to develop relationships and follow up with their patients, something that is pretty clearly not prioritized in the ER. Like idk why fans treat being good at emergency medicine as the end all and be all of medical careers.

Underdiscussed: the things that make Mohan unfit for the ER are the qualities that maker her a better, healthier, stronger person than Robby. If this show is clear about anything it’s that sometimes being “good” at this takes cutting off pieces of yourself.

@lostsleep_ @parasocialyte Maybe I am misremembering something but I also thought the storyline pretty clearly involved his own hubris in thinking he could just self medicate his withdrawal symptoms, almost certainly fueled by the stigma around addicts and how he thought he was better than them.

@parasocialyte as someone with chronic pain, I absolutely understand the lengths a person might go to trying to get rid of their pain. but Dr. Langdon was obviously not just treating his pain. I wish people would actually pay attention to the shows they watch omg
