Peter Obi is sympathetic to Nnamdi Kanu.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Kanu’s Conviction: At a Time Like This. The news of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s conviction should compel every well-meaning Nigerian to pause and reflect. This is coming at a time when our beloved nation is facing severe economic hardship, insecurity, and the consequences of poor governance. Rather than reducing tension, this unfortunate development may well only aggravate it. I have always maintained that Mazi Kanu should never have been arrested. His arrest, detention, and now conviction represent a failure of leadership and a misunderstanding of the issues at stake. For years, I have consistently argued that dialogue, constructive engagement, and inclusive governance offer the path to lasting peace. Coercion becomes necessary only when reason has been exhausted. In this case, I submit that the reason was not only not exhausted, but was probably not explored at all, or not fully explored. The concerns Kanu raised were not unheard of. The issues for which he demanded solutions were not insoluble. It only required wisdom, empathy, and a willingness to listen. In any functional society, such grievances are met with dialogue and reforms aimed at strengthening unity. The government’s approach has only deepened mistrust and created an avoidable distraction at a time when citizens are overwhelmed by harsh economic realities and insecurity. While some may insist that “the law has taken its course,” leadership often demands more than a strict, mechanical application of the law. Nations around the world resort to political solutions, negotiated settlements, and even amnesty when legal processes alone cannot serve the broader interest of peace and stability. Nigeria is not an exception. The handling of Kanu’s case mirrors the government as a man trapped in a hole but who, instead of looking for a way out, keeps digging deeper. It worsens not only the government’s predicament but also the nation's collective condition. If we truly desire a new Nigeria - a united, peaceful, and progressive one, our leaders must choose healing over hostility, reconciliation over retaliation, and dialogue over division. Only by addressing grievances with justice, fairness, and compassion can we move towards a future where every Nigerian feels heard, valued, and safe. My ultimate call at this time, without prejudice to how anyone feels about the decision of the court, is for us to be optimistic for peace and reconciliation which will come in the end. I am also saying, thereby, that the Presidency, the Council of State and credible statesmen who love this country and who are interested in cohesion and inclusivity, should rise to the occasion, for a lasting solution. -PO

Do you know that Morris never carried out 1 project under the directorate of mobilization. Do you know that Morris had a meeting with the directorate 2 days before he resigned? Do you know Morris never informed his directorate about his movements that involves the claimed 40m expenses. So what was he actually doing?

I don't give two fúcks about Morris Monye. In fact I and him blocked each other on these streets since 2023. But I believe he's a passionate warrior who missed way. We are young and can be overzealous sometimes. I'd rather fight alongside a fierce and fearless Monye who's not scared to go against ANYONE than with a cówardly Sissy like Sim Fubara who I heard has purchased the form. I plead with Obidients to shelve emotions. MORRIS IS A PLUS TO ANY TEAM. My humble submission though

BREAKING: FCT High Court has rendered INEC membership timeline void. Politicians are now free to defect to other political parties anytime to contest the 2027 election. This is a huge ruling for democracy. More Politicians will decamp to NDC in coming days and weeks.

Open Apology Letter to the Obidient Movement My Dear Obidient Family, I come before you today with a heavy heart, deep humility, and no excuses. Some time ago, in a moment of frustration and immaturity, I wrote and released a resignation letter as Director of Mobilization. In that letter, I allowed deep frustration & personal emotions to cloud my judgment. I made statements that subtly and unnecessarily dragged Peter Obi, a man I still respect for his vision, integrity, and sacrifice for this nation. That was wrong. It was childish, and beneath the standard I should have upheld, especially as someone who once held a leadership position in this movement. I take full responsibility. No one forced me to write it. No one edited it. It came from me, and it was a mistake. I deleted the letter afterwards, but I know deletion does not erase the damage, the disappointment, or the loss of trust many of you felt. I understand why some of you no longer respect me the way you once did. You had every right to feel let down. To Peter Obi himself (fondly called PO): Sir, I am sincerely sorry. My words were not a true reflection of the values of sacrifice, accountability, and constructive criticism that you preach. I failed in that moment. To every single Obidient, the ones who stayed grinding, the ones who defended the vision even when it was tough, the ones who felt betrayed by my actions, I am deeply sorry. You are the real heroes of this movement. Many of you are young people full of hope and fire for a better Nigeria. You didn’t deserve to see internal cracks turned into public drama. I let you down. I am not writing this because I want something or a position in the movement as I’m enjoying private life. I am writing it because it is the right thing to do. Leadership is not only about when the road is sweet and smooth; it is also about owning up when you mess up. I own this fully. I am committed to rebuilding trust through consistent actions, not just words. But I also know trust is not demanded, it is earned back slowly, if at all. Thank you for reading this. Whether you accept my apology or not, I respect your feelings and your right to hold me accountable. The love I have for a better Nigeria has not changed. You all know me. My respect for the Obidient spirit remains. I am sorry truly. With humility and hope for forgiveness, Your brother in this struggle, Morris Monye. Oya come let’s hug. 😊

Are Obidients aware that they will need every vote and every form of support for Peter Obi in the next election? You can’t keep attacking, insulting, or throwing stones at everyone simply because you were offended by their actions after the 2023 elections. Morris is just as important to the movement as every other supporter, regardless of whatever may have happened in the past. If the goal is truly change, then there has to be room for dialogue, reconciliation, and strategic unity. Some of you act like self-appointed gatekeepers and mouthpieces of the movement. Who gave anyone the authority to decide who is “good enough” to support the cause? A movement grows by attracting people, not by being vile to someone who also stood his ground for the movement in the last election

Rivers State governorship election in 2027 will be won by the NDC. Siminalayi Fubara was our guy. Now that he has abdicated his seat, an Obidient and an NDC candidate will become the next governor of Rivers State, Nigeria, from May 29, 2027.

If there was no intention to recontest, you should have communicated to your followers. Or you redefect to another party in time and get a ticket. At least give it a fight as a serving governor of the treasure base of the nation. Your predecessora have always had challenges during their time. CRA also escaped impeachment, He was relieved of his security details He was made ordinary But he fought and finished his second term and even tried to install his successor Wike faced the strongest of opposition when CRA was a minister. He faced the greatest of distraction from opposition, but he managed to return to office in 2019 after giving CRA a brave fight. He finished his 8yrs on strong foot and successfully superimposed his successor which is you. What made you lack the dexterity to give it a fight? At least for your believers? Most of them by now would have looked for a way to reconcile themselves back to their political aborigine, If you had communicated your none interest. But you kept them in the dark Went for screening, came out and told the press that no COMMENT. Your foot soldiers are now appealing why they were disqualified and you are the governor. You defected to save your head, But didn't defect to take charge of the party you defected to. It's really the most trying time for we your supporters. We were blindly believing and supporting. Abrahamic faith on a mere political mortal.

You resigned from your position & left the movement. That wasn’t enough, you even had to post your resignation on Twitter in order to set Peter Obi up for drags. But today, you want to use same Obi’s influence to win election. What do you take us for? Kids? Shameless boy. E say “it’s time for all NDC supporters globally to mobilize. This is the time.” 🤣🤣
