@ZoeJardiniere The proposed note on this doesn't negate the point Zoe is making. Once the private companies have paid a Royalty, the oil and gas extracted belongs to them and is sold on the international market, without us getting any privileged access to it (or price benefit, for that matter).

It is blowing my mind how many people don’t seem able to grasp that oil & gas in the North Sea is not “ours” but was sold off to private companies who will trade it on the international market like any other fuel.
