This doc on Aussie Belle Gibson is interesting but hardly surprising. SM is nuclear weaponry for Communal & Vulnerable narcissists. Seen it first hand up close. mUh cAnCeLLaTiOn, mUh cHiLdHoOd AbUsE. Vulnerable narcs will make up all sorts of things to get attention. Mostly twisting semi-truths and misreporting events to spin a narrative that suits their victim persona. It is almost impossible for their social media followers to tell fact from fiction. You may even be guilt tripped into throwing money at their crowdfund and paypal. It's the easiest grift and most difficult to disprove without serious due diligence. One Occam's razor test - if someone is the perennial 24/7 victim, if EVERYONE in their past was an "abuser", if the entire world is out to get them at all times, chances are they're playing you. Best takeaway from the doc is a quote by psychologist @Sandy_Rea_ - "Pathological lying is someone who's lost touch with reality, and have immersed themselves in their story. The lies have become their reality."

Social media has given delusional people with acute mental illness a megaphone that most malignant narcissists and sociopaths never had in history. The impact it has on individual victims and society as a collective needs to be studied.

@YYccdaiying @philpsychpsy @evelinlindner @JCUCHS @jcu It is likely that it does. Firstly, it’s unclear if humiliation is universally experienced. Secondly, the nature of language means that there are likely to be many words that index the experience.

In our review, Rea et al. (2024) found the meaning of humiliation varied in the literature. It is vital for researchers to be cognisant of the different meanings ascribed to the emotion. @philpsychpsy @evelinlindner @JCUCHS @jcu

@UngGym @TraceySpicer Neither funny nor insightful. I have suggested a fair, structured intervention that will ensure these boys can be supported to be good, kind, moral and loving men. I have not suggested punitive or isolating tactics. Not sure what you read into the suggestion.

@Sandy_Rea_ @TraceySpicer I would suggest a camp surrounded by barbed wire and armed guards. We could have radical feminists patrolling and lecturing the boys. Of course waterboarding should be used. I would restrict foods as well. Young boys like food. Make their mothers hate them as well.

@TraceySpicer I think we all share collective outrage. BUT I think we change the dynamics by working with the families of these young boys. Keep the boys at school, engage in restitution and reeducation and make them endure the consequences rather than simply punish them by exclusion. 1/2
