@atrupar It's getting so tiresome seeing how a few rich people in government steal and get richer at the cost of people's lives... and lie to their faces and tell them that it's for your own sake... it's like seeing a horror movie... and you're the dumb blonde that walks to her death...

@GigglingGanon As an outsider viewer, EVERYONE in this video looks like a horrible person. The smugness of the person recording, the woman using her triggers this snd that, the police officer in his tiptoes to not doing anything wrong that could hurt anyone of those 2 people... jeeez...

Administrative assistant for the city believe her feelings trump the rights of the citizens. In this tense encounter, an independent journalist enters city offices to exercise a basic legal right: inspecting the public records index. Under Washington state law (RCW 42.56.070), this document is required to be available for public inspection. It’s not a favor; it’s the law. Enter Sabrina Costik, an administrative assistant who claims to be "brand new" but is already attempting to rewrite the Constitution based on her personal feelings. The exchange highlights a growing and dangerous trend in public service—the idea that personal "traumas and triggers" override the civil rights of the public. Throughout the video, Sabrina argues that: Her "comfort level" should dictate where a citizen stands. Her "liberties" are being violated by a camera in a government building. Recording her is "incredibly rude," effectively prioritizing social etiquette over the First Amendment. The situation required the intervention of Deputy Chief Matt McKnight of the Chehalis Police Department. In a masterclass of de-escalation and legal clarity, McKnight had to explain the hard truth to his own staff: when you are a public servant in a public building, you do not have a "reasonable expectation of privacy" while performing your duties. McKnight—who is currently campaigning for Lewis County Sheriff—remained professional, but the core issue remains: Why are public employees being put behind counters without a fundamental understanding of the Bill of Rights? As far as McKnight, he is running for sheriff in 2026 and his understanding and respect for the rights of the citizens is everything you would want in county sheriff. That said, as far as Sabrina, when "I’m uncomfortable" becomes a tool to suppress transparency, the public loses.

In 2020, Nebraska school teacher James Fairbanks noticed his neighbor constantly hanging around and watching kids play from his driveway. Suspicious, Fairbanks decided to check the registered sex offender list. His suspicions were justified: Mattieo Condoluci, 64, twice convicted of child molestation. Fairbanks grabbed a gun, drove to his house, knocked on the door, and shot him seven times when he answered. He then emailed local media and confessed to everything, explaining he acted to prevent further offences. Astonishingly, at sentencing, Condoluci’s very own daughter stood up and defended Fairbanks, saying her father had abused her too and the system had failed for years. Despite this, in 2021, Fairbanks, who had no previous convictions, was sentenced to 40–70 years for second-degree murder with no parole until 2040.

When the March 2011 Tsunami hit his home town of Ishinomaki, Hideaki Akaiwa was at work. Realising his wife was trapped in their home, he ignored the advice of professionals, who told him to wait for the army to arrive to provide search and rescue. Instead he found a wetsuit, jumped in the raging torrent - dodging cars, houses and other debris being dragged around by the powerful current, any of which could have killed him instantly - and navigated the now submerged streets in pitch dark, freezing water until he found his house. Swimming inside, he discovered his wife alive on the upper level with only a small amount of breathing room, and pulled her out to safety. If he had waited for the army, his wife of 20 years would be dead. Oh, and if that’s not enough badassery for one lifetime, Hideaki realised his mother was also unaccounted for, so jumped back in the water and managed to save her life also. For weeks after the disaster, Hideaki entered the water every day on a one-man search and rescue mission, saving countless lives and proving that two natural disasters in a single day - and insurmountable odds - can’t stand in the way of love. This man is a hero.

Henry Cavill is one of Hollywood’s most dedicated Warhammer 40,000 fans, who also owns a full Adeptus Custodes army. He was filming the Highlander reboot in Poland. While on set near the city’s cathedral, the owner of local games store ROLEY surprised him with a box set of Custodes miniatures, his favorite faction. Photos captured Cavill’s excitement like a kid unwrapping a gift, and the pics quickly went viral. In return, he signed an Ultramarines helmet for the store, now one of its most prized displays.

I saw this video on Viola Davis' instagram this morning and everyone needs to see it. The gutting of the VRA is the most significant attack on ALL civil rights in America in my lifetime, and after they already came for the women.. We better wake the fuck up. None of us is safe:

The debt. This is the mechanism nobody talks about because it requires understanding how money works and most people find finance boring, which is exactly why it is the preferred instrument. When colonized countries gained independence, they inherited: Debt incurred by colonial governments: for railways built to extract resources, for administrative infrastructure that served the colonizer's needs, and for the costs of suppressing their own independence movements. Debt denominated in the colonizer's currency and owed to the colonizer's banks. Haiti's case is the most grotesque example on record. Haiti defeated Napoleon's army in 1803. The first Black republic. The only successful slave revolution in history to create an independent nation. France's response came in 1825: it recognized Haiti's independence only after sending warships and forcing Haiti to pay 150 million gold francs, later reduced to 90 million, as compensation. Compensation for what? For the slaves. France demanded that Haiti pay France for the loss of the human beings that Haiti had freed. Haiti paid. For 122 years, Haiti paid. The final payment was made in 1947. That debt, and the economic strangulation it required, is a direct structural cause of Haiti's poverty today. And today, when Haiti is poor, when Haiti struggles, when Haiti has political instability, some people look at it and say: "See? They cannot govern themselves. They needed the stern hand." No. The stern hand is why they are where they are. The invoice is still being paid.
