There is a special place in hell reserved for those International Medical Graduates- who after reaching positions of seniority, power & privilege- have exploited younger & naive IMGs for their own personal financial gain. The absolute dregs. For utter shame on you all.

As more doctors find themselves out of jobs - as roles earmarked for them- are now passed on to other professions? The more protests and angst you will hear. Most of the seniors who dismiss the angst? Do so from the comfort of their secured jobs, future & privilege. They would raise the exact same flags if their own jobs were under any form of threat. It's a fact. And the noise is going to grow louder over the next few years. Leadership in all national Doctor organisations will either respond to that. Or fall by the wayside. Sound bytes won't cut it any more.

@RCPsychSASdocs Vast majority of specialty doctors far exceed the requirements of the generic capabilities framework for a specialist- yet none are recognised as such.

The College has a Specialist Psychaitrist Job exemplar with the specifics of what is requred of this senior role in psychiatry based on the national cross-medicine Generic Capabilities Framework. Have a look and ask yourself: how many of our trust's speciality doctors meet it?

@zoe_robertson1 @sas_sobauk How many specialist posts have actually been created since the 2021 contract came in? For most specialty doctors it remains an aspiration they can’t fulfil because trusts have zero interest in creating such posts.

🤦‍♂️ come on @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk it was literally #SASweek24 a few days ago. A SAS doctor option in this survey would have covered all bases. Only about 10% of SAS are currently specialists.

Whenever #NHS leadership talk about 'need to have clinicians who don't rotate / change jobs every few months'? Remember there is a group of qualified experienced doctors called SAS who do just that And can help with delivery of care, leadership, mentorship Btw its #SASWeek24
