@Alex_Roarty @NOTUSreports It’s a no brainer. I don’t live in IA, but it’s obvious to me Turek is the stronger candidate.

Republicans say that officially, they don’t know which of the two Democratic candidates running for Senate in Iowa they prefer to face in a general election. Their actions suggest otherwise. My story on the not-so-subtle GOP effort to elevate Zach Wahls in the Iowa Dem primary notus.org/2026-election/…

Elle Duncan spoke with FOS on why she joined Netflix as their first sports anchor ahead of MLB opening day. "It’s very much my love language – break things, think big, we'll see if it was a mistake. If it wasn’t, then we’ll keep running with it. If it was, we'll shift."

@JR3_Cyco @DustyBottoms04 I picked Ben. I don’t want him to leave Iowa, but I think he is the most impressive of the group. I considered Fred, but he has taken a long time to bring Nebraska around. Ironically if Fran wasn’t fired he wouldn’t have gotten Pryce

If Bill leaves I think the best answer long term is hiring outside of KU. Ben McCollum, Fred Hoiberg, TJ Otz would be the ones that I think we could pry away. Going to really hurt losing everyone on the squad now and do you keep some of them by going JV. Is that even worth it?

@CyNationCyko21 @DustyBottoms04 @JR3_Cyco He was at NW Missouri State for 15 years. He passed up opportunities until Drake offered. His wife has said Iowa was his dream school and he hoped to get there. Anything is possible but to claim he is a lily pad jumper ignores his actual history.

@DustyBottoms04 @JR3_Cyco Your dude is the one that can't stop lily pad jumping year after year. McCollum makes more sense to leave, and he isn't leaving either

@rkrager8 @MurphyKeith True. It really could be either way. But if he was retiring why wouldn’t he announce it? He is almost 69 and has coached at ISU for 30 years. But he has a $700K retention bonus if he stays until 6/30/27. That is an incentive to stay or make them fire him.

@MurphyKeith @SaraLRiley I can agree to that, but I don't think players want to rebuild with a new coach there OR play for Billy / Jamie if they hire within...they want to go where there is stability. Just a thought.

Hey Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska fans. Reply to us with what team you’re a fan of and then talk trash about the other two state’s corn 🌽

@SickosCommittee Corn is fungible there is no difference in what the market will pay for Iowa, Illinois or even Nebraska corn. Yields matter to corn farmers, and Iowa usually produces the most corn of any US state. But who cares? Not me.

@TheGabeWhitaker When does his contract end? I can understand why he would not retire if he can continue to be paid if he is fired.

2006 Jamie Pollard would have fired Bill Fennelly faster than he let go Coach Mac. Instead he gave him a “lifetime contract” to run this program into mediocrity.

@steve_sherwood @JamesLucasIT That and the lack of processed foods and New Yorkers walk more than most Americans. At least I walk a lot more when I’m in NYC than I walk when pretty much anywhere else.

@rkrager8 @MurphyKeith It seems the opposite. I think if he was retiring the players would see who Pollard is bringing in.

@MurphyKeith Do you suspect Bill is retiring? This seems like a lot of announcements in one day, though they have had a lot of player turnover the last few seasons.

@Kellan466320 @Clones007 If he was retiring the players would wait to see who Jamie was hiring. Why leave your friends and the school you attended for three years without knowing who they are bringing in?

@mmccabemike @StephCopley Beth fired Fran, our players didn’t leave until then. Unless Pollard will pull the trigger on Fennelly it isn’t the same situation.

@b_phillips21 @StephCopley It seems the opposite. If he was leaving the portal is open, they could wait and see if they wanted to play under the new coach. To me it seems like an indication he will be back next year.
