An old pic of me but still relevant. This is life with an intestine that is chronically obstructed. It is painful, nauseating, and keeps me from living the life I dream of living. A surgeon and a doctor has recently given me hope and hope is a wonderful medicine.

15 years ago I had my colon removed in emergency surgery. It was a most challenging day that would change the course of my life and the appearance and function of my body forever. 2 more emergency surgeries were to follow. The spirit of resilience resides within me. I am here!

@SaraRingerSharp @Youcantmakethi4 I had been putting some IBD specific ones in my newsletter but I think many closed their submissions in early to mid May. Here’s a big resource that has them listed by condition: needymeds.org/scholarships

Anyone know of scholarships for adults going back to school, adults with disabilities or chronic illness or anything else that might apply to me? I’m hoping to go back to school this fall but can’t without financial help. Thanks!

Once again me not sleeping on my hospital bed because I hate the ones with mattresses that inflate and deflate all over the place. The worst. So uncomfortable and there is no option to make it stop. I’ll take this reclining chair next to Dans and just look at my bed. lol

Any book suggestions? Looking for ideas to add to my 2023 reading list. 📚

Patient with intestinal failure. 45kg on admission. Salvaged with parenteral nutrition (PN). Discharged with home PN. Worked out in gym & went back to cycling. Now 80kg, athletic and built like a brick outhouse. And this is why clinical nutrition is so rewarding #Nutrition
