@edparnell @dogsandrobins When I was on my son’s playgroup committee, I chanced my arm and wrote to him asking if he’d like to attend our summer fete. He wrote back, politely explaining that he was otherwise engaged, but enclosed a sketch which he hoped might raise some money if raffled. Such a gent.

@dogsandrobins I wrote to Tony Hart once, and thanked him for his work, although I was no good at art, he was but he was generous with it. I just wanted to show some appreciation that he had made me enjoy art. And he wrote back. Seemed like a decent bloke.
