My niece's school wind band played "Axel F" from Beverly Hills Cop. I looked at their uncomprehending faces, glanced around at the parents, aunts, uncles &c nodding cheerfully along & it struck me: this is like when they made us play Glenn Miller medleys in *my* school wind band.
