It has also emerged that the number of paediatric orthopaedic surgeons who carry out spinal procedures in Temple Street Children’s Hospital has halved – from six to three – in the past five years. @davidcullinane said it has been a number of years since the Government promised that no child would have to wait longer than four months for surgery. “Despite all of the plans and promises, the waiting list remains stagnant. This kind of carry on is exactly why so many of us were against the task force from the very beginning. I suspect it was all simply to give the illusion of progress and collaboration. The minute they decided against it being *independent* is the minute this task force became obsolete.
