WE’ (the NHS) have added unnecessary steps for our pts throughout the system. The changes made over the last 12 months have focused on the ‘WHY’ & ‘pts BENEFIT’ while aligning to ‘pts being seen by the right team, in the right place, at the right time’

Restrictions on visiting patients at Royal Bolton Hospital during mealtimes are being relaxed to improve emotional health and wellbeing support for patients and families.
From Saturday 1 February, visitors will no longer be asked to leave when patients are receiving their meals.

The changes are being made following a wide review of evidence by our Library and Knowledge team, in which systematic reviews found no demonstrable benefit to excluding family, friends and carers during mealtimes.
