In 2010, a Paris apartment was discovered that had been left untouched and abandoned for 70 years.
The apartment once belonged to Marthe de Florian, a well-known Parisian courtesan of the 1890s. During the Nazi occupation of Paris, her granddaughter fled the city and never returned, yet she continued paying rent on the apartment each month until her death in 2010 at the age of 91.
When the apartment was finally opened, one of the executors described it as “like stepping into Sleeping Beauty’s apartment.” Inside, furniture, paintings, and personal belongings were found exactly as they had been left, untouched for seven decades.
On a bedroom wall hung an unsigned portrait, which was later identified as a painting of Marthe de Florian herself by the renowned artist Giovanni Boldini.
Though she had been largely forgotten by history for 70 years, the apartment preserved her life in remarkable detail, as if nothing had ever been lost.

It is heartbreaking to see the elephant’s tears as it has to endure that life of slavery 💔
Mojay is a 32-year-old female elephant who was once chained and forced to do hard labor for her entire life (logging/riding elephant). After being rescued by the organization Planting Peace (together with the Brady Hunter Foundation), she is now completely free. The video shows Mojay enjoying her new life: swimming, roaming in nature, and living happily and peacefully for the rest of her life 💖✨

My heart melted here🥹😭
An dog adoption event was happening in Ohio where many people came to see the dogs.
There was an old man, 71-year-old Gerald, who also attended the event, but he was sitting far away in a chair.
His wife had passed away some time ago; a few days later, his dog also died.
Gerald, with a heavy heart, told a volunteer, "I don’t know why I came here; I just know that I can't bear the loneliness at home."
He just sat on a bench and was watching the people and the dogs with them.
After a while, a 3-year-old Blue Heeler dog named "Hank" was brought into the room, who was looking good and often didn’t go near anyone.
Hank ignored everyone who was standing near him in the room and walked over to Gerald, who was sitting on the bench.
He stopped next to him and sat down by his feet, as if he had found his person.
When Gerald saw him doing this, he became sad and started crying, and Hank was right there with him.
A little while before the event ended, Gerald adopted Hank.
The next morning, we received a message from Gerald, stating that Hank slept with him all night.
He mentioned that it was the first time in the last four months that he slept peacefully at night.

When we rescued Ndotto, we couldn’t believe our eyes: He was the tiniest elephant we had ever seen.
In August 2014, herdsmen discovered a newborn calf sheltering amongst their goats and sheep. We’re not sure how Ndotto lost his mother, but the resourceful little orphan inserted himself into the nearest group of similarly sized creatures. Luckily, he found himself in sympathetic company, and the rest is history.
Twelve years on, Ndotto is now leading a wild life in Tsavo East National Park. His transformation was made possible by more than a decade of day-and-night dedication – helping our tiniest orphan grow into the big, independent bull he is today.

The decision to withdraw a planned brigade deployment to Poland is puzzling.
Poland is a model ally that is more than pulling its weight on its defense obligations, in a geographically vulnerable position on Russia's border.
This is not the message we should be sending to Putin.
