@ArsenalFCIrish Remember games being called off not because of frozen pitch or terraces but basically Avenell Road being frozen top to bottom and the slope making it too hazardous to use

Highbury, January 2003. Snow on the ground, cannon above the doors. Before glass bowls, before corporate gloss, this was football. Cold outside, fire within. Proper football. #arsenal #afc #gunners

@FlackJimmmy @Rattie_Ash @XiThice Yes Stamford Bridge would have been too small by then. But as soon as the FA realised how much money this brought in it soon became the norm

Who else thinks the FA Cup semi-finals shouldn't be at Wembley? They should be played at neutral grounds like Old Trafford, Anfield, Villa Park, or St James' Park, leaving the final as a Wembley exclusive!

Easter Monday 1986 Arsenal 0-2 Watford The first Highbury game after Don Howe's departure ends with an Avenell Road congregation in front of the East Stand for a protest at the Highbury hierarchy. 🎵We hate Hill-Wood....We are the Hill-Wood haters🎵

🚨JUST IN: Ex-Gunner, Perry Groves has criticized Adrian Durham who advised teenage Max Dowman should leave Arsenal. "The biggest load of nonsense I've ever heard in my life!" "Arsenal have a brilliant track record of nurturing young players!" Spot on Perry, some of these pundits are just ridiculous at this point.

@Bazro10 If you get a ticket in the wrong end you sit/stand there keep your head down watch the game and keep your mouth shut it's not rocket science. Guessing these clowns haven't been to too many matches. Absolutely no sympathy.

@shirt_arsenal I buy them out of habit a flick through on the train home but otherwise no. If we still had ticket stubs I'd probably settle for that but we don't even have this now.

@garythegooner56 Only buy them out of habit more of an addiction really. Around 3 of the current ones take up as much space as the entire home seasons in mid 70s to late eighties. And those programmes were less glossy but far superior.

I used to religiously buy the match programme & read every word when it was 16 pages back in the day. Now I buy about 6 a season. I bought the Chelsea one & out of 92 pages I only read 42. I had no interest in the other 50 pages. The match day programme has become far too big imo

@hamptonlax @AwayDaysClub_ Sorry didn't mean to sound snappy. Arsenal have no standards now except how much cash they get out of fans. 50yrs of matches but I'm not the target consumer I buy a programme and a tea. I eat outside and dont spend £100s in the shops and pay £50 to be able to beg for tickets

@AwayDaysClub_ Huge Highbury fan. Never really warmed up to the “new” Clock End. It just never seemed to fit quite tight, to me at least. Of course, at that time time, my club had four stands, none of which even sort of matched, so..,
