@orcunselcuk You are right, @orcunselcuk. It is important to mention that predominance of informal rules over formal rules has deepened with AMLO government. From the very inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum term there will be more presence than absence of AMLO in power

@SarsfieldR It's not the only country where this is currently happening. Not much can stop popular incumbents even if they erode democracy. Mexico's peculiarity is the term limits and the fact that, at least formally, AMLO had to step down.

The result of the elections in Mexico suggests that a large majority supports executive aggrandizement and does not support the mechanisms of checks and balances. Should we revisit Guillermo O'Donnell's idea of delegative democracy (as one of the links on the path to autocracy)?
